This Week in Astrology - 26th July until 1st August 2021 – Flexibility

This week begins rather quietly, and there will be no new aspects on either Monday or Tuesday, and it's only in mid-week when the action will begin. This will see Mercury which has been moving through emotional Cancer shift into brash and bold Leo early on Wednesday 28th July. As it does so, it will immediately pick up on an inconjunct aspect to Jupiter, and here we may have an issue of being too forthright for our own good, before suddenly realising that we have rather overstepped the mark. It is possible that we may have to retract what we say, or express our ideas and feelings in more measured terms. Decisions we make in the heat of the moment we may come to regret, and the landscape will change further later on in the day, as Jupiter moves out of Pisces and back into Aquarius. What started out as a good idea, may end up being a total misjudgement, so be prepared to make last minute changes, if needs be. If you are making a trip today, watch out for unexpected delays, or things going wrong en-route.

Harry and Meghan – A rebellious marriage

The news that Prince Harry's memoirs could land him and his wife at least $20 million has gone down like a lead balloon over here in the UK. Apparently Palace officials have indicated that the Royal family have almost resigned themselves to the fact that more allegations and scandal lies in wait for them when the book is finally published next year.

The New Moon in Cancer on 10th July 2021 - Togetherness

We have just come through a New Moon in Cancer in the early hours this morning, so this is a lunation focused on emotion, caring, compassion and aimed at the circle of loved ones around us. I sense that it will foster a real sense of togetherness. This is also a New Moon where we will be looking to protect and secure what we have achieved not only in a personal sense but also on a wider more national level too. New Moons promote new starts and beginnings and if things have been a little rocky recently, then this new Moon will give a chance to start again, bring forward new initiatives and to make the sacrifices necessary to heal problems of the past.

This Week in Astrology - 5th until 11th July 2021 – Venus Takes The Spotlight

Hi everyone. The coming week in Astro terms is sort of a mirror image of last week, in so much as one of the inner planets enters the Saturn Uranus square to turn up the heat. Last week it was Mars in the mix, and this week Venus will be the star of the show.

This Week In Astrology (28th June - 4th July 2021) - Mars Enters The Fray

Good morning everyone. Hope you had a good weekend. During this week in Astrological terms, Mars, the planet of action steps into the spotlight as it enters the realms of the Saturn Uranus square. This then on the face of it looks a tricky week, and it appears to get tougher as it progresses.

Britney Spears – Freedom on the way?

In an empassioned plea to the court, Britney Spears yesterday stated her case to be released from a conservatorship that she has been living under for the past 13 years. She has been effectively controlled by her father because she was judged to be unable to look after herself in the past. Now she has gone to court to get those impositions revoked.

Parler is Shut Down - The first real effect of Saturn in Aquarius?

At 11:59 hrs on the 10th January Pacific Time, Amazon Web Services shut off off the communications app "Parler"; it was seen as a potential rival to Twitter. Instantaneously, the ability of millions of users to communicate with each other was eradicated. Boom, just like that!! Just before this, Google & Apple had done the same blocking it on their platforms. This came on the back of President Trump being banned first by Facebook and then by Twitter, limiting his ability to speak and spread his message to his followers. Why is this so significant? In my eyes it was the first time that the true effects of Saturn in Aquarius, the planet of limitation and running things in sign of technology and the community, was being felt.

Saturn square Uranus – 2021 will be the year of adjustment

Happy New Year everyone!! We are on the cusp of 2021 and some of you reading this may indeed already be in the New Year. We can only but hope that 2021 is an improvement on 2020, and in terms of Astrology, it looks like a calmer year coming.

The Full Moon in Cancer on 30th December 2020 – Making plans for the New Year

There's going to be a full Moon on the 30th December at 8 degrees in the sign of Cancer, a reminder that the Capricorn Cancer influence of the past 2 to 3 years has not quite finished yet. As you will know Cancer is a sign of nurturing, security, family and the past, and this lunation will highlight these themes as we get the end of a most difficult year, and look forward with hope that 2021 will be a little bit better.

The Grand Jupiter & Saturn Conjunction – A New Age Begins

So to the grand conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter on 21st December 2020, the day of the winter solstice at 0 degrees Aquarius. This conjunction has been widely anticipated as it it brings forth the advent of a brand new cycle, as this major conjunction occurs in the air signs for the first time in the best part of 600 years. Just to give you some perspective, the last time these two planets met in the early degrees of Aquarius to start a new cycle or grand conjunctions in air signs was the year 1226. This particular conjunction is likely to be far more significant than that one was, as it lands on the solstice. Jupiter is the great expansive influence in the heavens, as the bringer of wisdom and knowledge. Saturn is the great restrictive influence on us, holding us to account, giving us responsibilities to carry out, and bringing patience when it is sorely needed. This conjunction convenes every 19 to 20 years, as a marker point for the next chapter in the evolution of the world around us. I believe that this particular grand conjunction will mark the beginning of an even greater age - the Age of Aquarius.

Pluto goes direct - The start of something new...

I've been waiting for this day for months now. Today, well actually this week, as Pluto moves so slowly. The Lord of Transformation finally brings a shift in the overall energy that we are travelling in at around 13.30 GMT today, as it turns direct. The words "power shift" comes to mind, as since mid-late spring, we have been caught up in an almost never ending cycle of retrograde frustration.

New vistas and problems for the Sussex family...

The shock news that came out of the British Royal Family would not have been so much of a surprise for any Astrologer who looks at their Astrology charts. The announcement yesterday that the couple were “demoting themselves” and in effect denouncing their Royal titles to live both in North America and the UK happened on the eve of a Lunar Eclipse that as ever tells the story.

President Trump, the Impeachment Vote and the year to come..

Whenever a narcissist finds himself (or herself) accused of something that they know that they are guilty or culpable of, every single one I have ever seen and encountered always does the same thing. They go on the attack. They discredit, turn the tables on the accuser, and try to make the victim doubt themselves. Is the narcissist going to admit that he or she in the wrong? No way. Instead they will say it's a scam, a witch hunt and make themselves look like the poor victim. It's a pattern of behaviour that I dare say that you may recognise in someone you know. Never be fooled by it.

Saturn sextile Neptune - Righting the wrongs of the past...

One of the more important aspects of 2019 is now forming, with Saturn in Capricorn closing in on a 60 degree sextile to Neptune. Neptune sits at 14 Pisces, and Saturn is currently at 13 Capricorn. There will be three hits of this aspect running throughout 2019, firstly at the end of this month on 31st January, then on 18th June and finally on 8th November 2019.

Rihanna – Standing strong in the face of a family tragedy

Rihanna

Can you believe that Rihanna is just having her first Saturn return. It feels like she's been around forever and yet she's only 29 years of age. Actually I’ve met Rihanna. It was a long time ago now at London Heathrow airport, and she was seeing off her mum who was travelling back to Barbados, before flying herself to New York with her “crew” of musicians and tour manager. This was just before her worldwide smash “Umbrella” and I remember asking her tour manager if her new album was any good. He was very confident at the time that there were a “few” hit songs on it. My word he was right!! That meeting stuck in my mind for quite a while, and now of course Robyn Rihanna Fenty is one of the most recognisable pop stars on the planet. I am pleased I met her, before fame came knocking on her door. Now tragedy has hit the Caribbean Queen of pop, as her cousin was gunned down in Barbados. She was pictured with her cousin Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne on Christmas Day. One day later he was tragically killed, and this must have been devastating for her and her family.

Romania – Born out of the shadow of death and revolution

Romania

I was asked by a loyal follower of mine Maia about the situation in Romania, and true to my word, I'm responding to her request, and actually it's quite appropriate. Modern Romania was born on the moment Nicolae Ceausescu fled by helicopter on 22nd December 1989 from the headquarters of the Communist Party in what used to be called Palace Square (now known as Revolution Square) in Central Bucharest. There had been demonstrations against the Ceausescu regime in Timisoara and 8 minutes into his speech in Bucharest on a freezing cold morning in front of an agitated crowd, the people scarred by years of impoverishment rounded on him defying years of state terror and control. Their patience had finally snapped after years of suffering and communist lead failure, and the protests turned into a full scale revolution. Fearing for his safety, Ceausescu fled to a waiting helicopter and escaped seconds before he was caught. He was located days later, immediately tried, convicted and sentenced to death; a sentence carried out in brutal fashion in front a firing squad. There was a news report from a Yugoslav news agency TanJug at mentioning the fleeing of Ceausescu at 11.48am in Bucharest, and this is the time I take for the moment that Romania turned a corner.

Saturn in Capricorn 2018 to 2020 – It's time to get real...

Saturn (2)

Saturn in a few days time is moving out of Sagittarius where it has been for the past couple of years and entering it's home sign of Capricorn. This is happening on 20th December 2017 and Saturn will finally exit Capricorn for Aquarius on 17th December 2020. The last time Saturn was here was from late 1988 until early 1991 and if you remember back to that time, it oversaw the breakdown of the communist Eastern Europe, as the Berlin wall fell alongside the failed governments of the cold war era. It is significant that all of those countries liberated in that 2 year period have gone on to steadily grow, and though it's been a long hard road, many are now stable successful nations in their own right.

Now Saturn returns back to the sign it rules, and we will all see a shift in emphasis in all our lives. When you think of Saturn, you think of responsibility and all of us will have to take more responsibility for our actions. By that I mean using our resources wisely and efficiently, working hard and not cutting corners, being realistic in our outlook and ambitions, being patient and taking our time to make sure that all that we do is realistic honest and true. If we achieve those aims then we can create the very order and structure in our lives that most of us crave for.

I think in the next two years I think we will also look for a simpler life than we have. One of Saturn's roles is to limit, to conserve and cut out the waste. We've already in the last two years while Saturn was in Sagittarius seen the effect on excess in our lives. In financial terms, austerity has been a watchword in many countries after the explosion of the financial markets between 2008 and 2012 and growth has not been easy in the past two years. Saturn hates complications, and we may find regulations trimmed down and simplified, governments going back to old policies and strategies that worked in the past, traditional values will be appreciated and we will need to play by the rules to succeed. Saturn is going to run the rule over all administrative structures in the next couple of years, and any that are chaotic, wasteful and and corrupt may like the Communist dictatorships of the cold war era may crumble and fall under the public's collective need for a more accountable society and as such we will want our leaders to be sincere and authentic. Growth in simple terms may come out of failure, and you know the old adage “we learn much more through difficult experiences and failure, than we ever would do through success”. Much of this may come when Saturn makes contact with Pluto in late 2019 and into the beginning of 2020. Pluto is obsessive power, and Saturn's conjunction with Pluto may see new administrative structures forming out of the ashes of nations where absolute, secretive, undermining or manipulative control has failed.

You know in the past few years most societies have become much more materialistic, we have embraced a faster more throw away society, and we have not respected the earth. I think will be a big theme in the next couple of years. Saturn is now going to be in an earth sign Capricorn, and Saturn wherever it goes gathers up and eliminates all the mess and litter in our lives. I think there is going to be a huge focus on cleaning up our planet, on ecology and conservation. With Saturn in Capricorn we are going back to basics, and the organic way of growing food, the use of recyclable materials and the proliferation of plastics contaminating our lands and seas is an ever present growing threat. I mentioned that old fashioned ideas given a modern twist may be the way to go , and the preparation for this has been in the making with Saturn being trine to Uranus in the past year. Now will be the time to implement those new strategies to improve all of our lives.

Saturn loves quality over quantity, order over chaos and anything that is well thought through, that has been worked on and matured over the years now stands a chance of true lasting success. Traditional will win over trash, well made items that last will be more desirable than something that last 5 minutes and then breaks, counterfeit will be regulated against and originality will be sought after. Never think that Saturn is a sign that is staid, old fashioned and tired. Capricorns and those ruled by Saturn know that anything innovative and quirky is good, so long as it's relevant and handled in the right way.

I don't think it's a pessimistic transit and downbeat transit, indeed I think with the world in the perilous state that it is in at the moment that we need some strong, patient considerate leadership. Believe me, those who have done wrong in the past few years are going to find chickens coming home to roost between 2018 and 2020. The quiet, strong, diligent approach is going to win the day now. It's time to put away the ego for a couple of years at least, to look at the problems that you are facing and to tackle them head on through planning, organisation and by taking the tough decisions that need to be made. No excuses, no ifs, no buts, it's time to get real and down to business.

Your Year Ahead - 2018 Horoscope Predictions

Wednesday 1 November 2017

Saturn enters the sting of Scorpio, and the threat level raises.

128141189

It's always important as an Astrologer to keep an eye on the moments of the planets on the Astrology wheel, but it also pays to realise that the wheel we use is quite crude almost anaesthetic in nature. When you put the planets and place them within the constellations, then things come very much to life, and you get a brand new perspective on their movements. For us all, there is no more important planet than Saturn as it teaches us all lessons, and now it it moving into a very interesting part of the heavens.
