Is the UK on the verge of another “Winter of Discontent”?

We all live and experience cycles because eventually the planets come back to the same or similar parts of the universe in their orbits around our Sun, and in so doing they affect similar regions of our zodiac triggering problems or challenges that we may have seen before. In Britain, we may be start to see a situation that harks to the past developing once again, and the chief protagonist in all this is Uranus.

The EU & UK at a complete impasse over Brexit

So still the talks go on, day after day, disagreement after disagreement. Are the EU & UK flogging a dead horse? Unfortunately, I think so.

Will Boris hasten the break up of the United Kingdom?

Back om the 27th April 2016 I went on record to write this...

“The really powerful aspect starting to form though on the UK chart is transiting Pluto on the way to opposing the UK Moon. The Moon rules the top of the chart, the public face of the UK and this shows a complete transformation in the face of the nation that the world sees. There is definite change coming in the next year or two, and the ramifications of an exit vote for Europe could lead to the entire break up of the United Kingdom. Yes, we are talking a vital decision that could have ramifications of mammoth proportions.

You see, Scotland is very Euro friendly whereas the English seem to be very eurosceptic. There was a vote a couple of years ago where Scotland decided not to break away from the UK, but the question of Scottish independence is still a live one at Holyrood, where the Scottish parliament sits. Pluto opposing the Moon shows a potential change in the population of the UK or even a break up and transformation (Pluto) of the nation and its peoples (Moon). The stakes for the 23rd June vote could not be any higher.”

Now in the light of the election just two days ago, those words are becoming more and more prophetic every minute. The winner of the election, one I also called before it took place was Boris Johnson, and if you start to put his natal horoscope against those of Scotland, Nicola Sturgeon, the SNP leader and first minister of her nation, and the chart of Northern Ireland, things start to get even clearer about the effect he will have on this union of nations that I live in.

Saturn enters the sting of Scorpio, and the threat level raises.

It's always important as an Astrologer to keep an eye on the moments of the planets on the Astrology wheel, but it also pays to realise that the wheel we use is quite crude almost anaesthetic in nature. When you put the planets and place them within the constellations, then things come very much to life, and you get a brand new perspective on their movements. For us all, there is no more important planet than Saturn as it teaches us all lessons, and now it it moving into a very interesting part of the heavens.

The Great Saturn and Pluto conjunction of 2020. How will it affect us all?

Saturn

I have been promising to write this article for quite a while now and many of my readers have been asking for it too, so today I finally get out the crystal ball and try and predict what may happen as these two most influential of planets connect up in the month of January 2020 and beyond.

The UK General Election of 8th June 2017 from an astrological perspective

house of parliament

Hi everybody. It's time to look at the United Kingdom General Election happening in two and a half weeks and if the polls are to be believed the Conservative party under Prime Minister Theresa May seem to be on course for a big win come 8th June 2017.

Thursday 30 March 2017

So Brexit is here, but what next and in two years time?

Brexit

So yesterday Theresa May triggered the biggest and most complicated divorce case in modern history by signing a letter to be received by the European Union signalling that the United Kingdom was to leave. The letter was handed over to Donald Tusk, the President of the European Council and a two year countdown clock began. Now frantic negotiations will take place between British officials and European ones to try and broker an all-encompassing deal that will be satisfactory to both. It will not be an easy task.

Will the UK voters decide to leave the European Union?

brexit

In just under two months, UK voters will be going to the polls in a national referendum to decide if Britain will stay within the European Union. This is going to be a crucial vote for the future of the nation I live in, and looking at the Astrology I get the feeling that a mood of dissent will be gripping the nation as they wake up on the morning of the 23rd June 2016.

If you examine the natal chart for the moment the polls open set for 7.00am in the nation's capital London, the chart ruling Moon (representing the people) will be in the 7th house in Aquarius. Aquarius is a fiercely independent sign, it is one that calls for rebellion and change, and the 7th house is the house of relationships and open enemies. Don't expect the people to go in the direction that the leaders want, as they will do their own thing now.

Euro Referendum chart

The Ascendant for this chart will be in the late degrees of Cancer, the sign representing the past and the nation state opposed to this Aquarian Moon, square to Uranus sitting in the public 10th house and trine to a simmering frustrated Mars retrograde in the sign of permanent change Scorpio. I just feel there is latent anger here hiding under the surface ready to explode out. Any ascendant on a horary chart in the late degrees, as this one will be at the time, shows an indeterminate outcome, this vote is going to be a close one but one where the aspects to it will be key.

Where is the Sun, the king of this chart representing the leaders? It sits in the weakest house of all the 12th, square to the Aries Midheaven and that says to me that David Cameron will be out of step with the public mood, which will be positive and wanting to move forward. He is not in a strong position as the vote begins.

Mercury on this chart represents the decision that we all will have to make and it sits in Gemini, the sign of the twins, the sign of making a choice, of Yes versus No, or in this case In versus Out. That Mercury opposes Saturn, opposing the direction of the administrators of the country and more crucially square to (or at odds to) the North Node and Jupiter, the planet of international relations and foreign contacts. Mercury also squares to Neptune in the 9th house of foreign contacts, which on this chart is ruled by Neptune too. If you put all these indications together, then the only conclusion any Astrologer can come to is that the mood in the country will be veering towards a European exit.

Lets take things a bit further and plot this chart against the UK natal one. Transiting Mercury on this chart is in the 9th house of foreign contacts opposing the 3rd house UK Mercury in the house of local affairs, here is a direct indication of an important question being asked about which way we ultimately want to be governed, from at home, or from abroad. Square to this Mercury opposition is the transiting North Node/Jupiter conjunction saying to me that the decision made will be different to what the wider world wants or is heading.

The UK natal Saturn, representing the homeland (as Capricorn rules the 4th house) receives a trine from Uranus and a square from Mars retrograde. Is this an indication of a desire to change tack and be governed (Saturn) independently (Uranus) and a desire to move forward (Mars) by making a retrograde step?

The really powerful aspect starting to form though on the UK chart is transiting Pluto on the way to opposing the UK Moon.

You see, Scotland is very Euro friendly whereas the English seem to be very Euro sceptic. There was a vote a couple of years ago where Scotland decided not to break away from the UK, but the question of Scottish independence is still a live one at Holyrood, where the Scottish parliament sits. Pluto opposing the Moon shows a potential change in the population of the UK or even a break up and transformation (Pluto) of the nation and it's peoples (Moon). The stakes for the 23rd June vote could not be any higher. On a final note, this significant opposition could even indicate a change of monarch in the UK somewhere in the time span of 2017 and 2018, but that's a discussion for another day...

British PM David Cameron given a severe telling off by senior judge.

David Cameron 3

Our Prime Minister has been given a proper dressing down by senior High Court judge Justice Saunders (no relation) after Cameron commented on the conviction on his former senior aide and former editor of the "News of the World" Andy Coulson for phone hacking before all the charges had been decided upon. The jury in the trial were unable to come to a conclusion over two of the charges, and thus the trial is still live. The Prime minister was roundly criticized by the judge for making his views known about the verdict before all the proceedings had finished. This is a big "no no" in this country and Cameron could have been sanctioned for interference in a criminal trial.

UK voters send out a stark warning to the establishment.

UK an Eurp flag

Overnight a seismic shift in British politics occurred and I for one saw it coming. For the first time in over 100 years a party other than the big two, Conservative and Labour, won a national election. The anti European Union party and it's charismatic and straight talking leader Nigel Farage swept to a victory in the European elections. Not only did they pick up seats in England and Wales but they picked up one seat in Scotland too. I said a couple of months ago that Nigel Farage's image was on the rise when I looked at his natal chart, and I got this prediction spot on correct.

Nigel Farage and UKIP – Facing up to a moment of truth.

nigelfarage 2

A new force in British politics and in British life is on the rise. Nigel Farage and his UK Independence Party (UKIP) is gaining in strength and in it’s influence. Formed at the London School of Economics 19 years ago, UKIP has very slowly but steadily built up a sizeable following in the United Kingdom, and it’s current leader, Nigel Farage speaks with a brutal honesty and conviction about the policies that he believes in. UKIP’s stated aim is to to break the UK away from the European Union and to keep the future of the UK in the UK’s hands. This is a message that, in the more and more vanilla world of British politics, is proving increasingly refreshing and popular to many people. Yesterday Farage and UKIP stepped into the spotlight as he and Liberal Democrat leader and British deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg went head to head in a live TV debate. In polls taken after it finished, the verdict was that Nigel Farage had won, he got a resounding 57% of the vote. In this article I will look at the Astrology of Nigel Farage and of UKIP.

Aries Ingress chart 20th March 2014 for the United Kingdom

London

We are soon going to see the ingress of the Sun into Aries heralding the new Astrological year. Here is the Ingress Chart set for London and this the UK which sets the scene for the next 3 months.

Ceiling collapses on the audience at the Apollo Theatre in London.

LondonShaftesburyAvenue

Part of the ceiling has collapsed onto the audience below during a performance of a play called "Curious Incident Of The Dog in the Night-Time", a time when the theatre in Shaftsbury Avenue in the heart of the West End would have been packed by up to 700 people. The audience heard a creaking sound about 40 minutes into the play and then a large amount of plaster fell onto those at the front of the stalls.

Will 2014 be the year that the financial bubble bursts in the United States?

Dollars

I was asked by one of my followers on my Facebook page what Uranus turning direct would hold for the US. In answering this question posed to me I had a look back into history and found an astrological trend that is due to continue in the year 2014, one that the general public, politicians, financial officials and indeed those in the highest offices of power in the United States might not want to hear, but one that they should take heed of and prepare for.

United Kingdom – Aries Ingress chart 2013

Westminster

If I get time over the next couple of days, I will have a look at the Aries ingress charts for a series of countries around the world to see what is in store in the next 3 months. The ingress chart is the moment the Sun crosses the 0 degrees Aries point, and many Astrologers say that it sets the tone and the themes for the next three months, until the next cardinal ingress point at the beginning of Cancer. I naturally start off with my home country of the UK.

The Astrology of the BBC – Crisis time for Auntie Beeb.

BBC

Here in the UK, our main broadcaster and a respected name around the world is in meltdown. A sex scandal involving one of the BBC’s main stars Jimmy Savile who passed away last year broke in the past couple of months with claims that Savile molested girls on BBC property and even during the recording of programmes. It has since transpired that Savile may have been one of the UK’s most prolific sexual abusers. This scandal deepened as an investigative “Newsnight” programme into Savile just after his death was pulled off air at the end of last year in favour of a celebration of his life, and a second “Newsnight” edition in the past couple of weeks made completely unfounded child abuse claims against a former Conservative Member of Parliament, Lord McAlpine. This lead to the resignation of George Entwistle, the Director General of the Corporation. The BBC is now leaderless and it seems rudderless, being guided by an acting DG in Tim Davie who started work today. Much of this can be seen in the natal chart of the BBC which I investigate in this article.

The Annecy Shooting – Do the stars hold the clues to what actually happened?

Annecy

The horrible shooting of the Iraqi-British al-Hilli family in France on Wednesday has captured the headlines in the UK and working out the astrology on this event has lead me to look at different star connections for different countries at the same time. This was an event which happened in France but which have been felt most acutely in the UK. Amazingly the fixed star connections for this incident shows up in a different way in both countries, yet it still paints the picture very accurately.

Prince Harry – The playboy Prince living up to his reputation in Las Vegas.

Prince Harry

Oh my, when will he learn?? Prince Harry while he was obviously having a good time in Las Vegas has been caught in what you might call a “rather embarrassing” set of photos showing him naked; photos which have gone viral across the web. Not that scandal is new to young Harry. From wearing a Nazi outfit to a party which caused a storm of protest, to a string of boozy nights out with him staggering out of nightclubs, Prince Harry enjoys his social life to the full, but this time I can imagine he is going to get a proper dressing down from his family and especially one would expect from Prince Charles and his grandmother when he gets back home to the UK.

The rebirth of a proud (and slightly bonkers) nation.

london closing ceremony

The party’s over, but what a party it’s been!! As someone who hails from London, this morning I am welled up with enormous pride. Last night, at the end of the closing ceremony of the most fabulous Olympic Games ever, I shed a tear or two and I suspect I wasn’t alone. In Britain we will never forget the last two weeks. We invited the world to our wonderful eccentric country, we opened our hearts and the love poured out. And you know what? In the process, we as a nation found a new self-confidence; Britain transformed live on TV before your very eyes.

United Kingdom – More cracks appearing in the coalition government.

cameron clegg

The news dominating the the UK may be about the Olympics, but had this celebration of sport was not going on, then Nick Clegg’s announcement that his own House of Lords reform bill was “dead in the water and that the Conservatives had broken the coalition contract” would sound alarm bells ringing in the UK media and in the government parties. This is the one piece of legislation that the Liberal Democrats, partners to David Cameron’s Conservative party, have been pinning their hopes on to prove their worth. Now it will not happen, what is left for the Liberals to achieve? Will the disgust of the rank and file members of the Liberal Democrats put severe pressure on Nick Clegg to pull away for the coalition agreement, or ask him to derail future Conservative proposals threatening the viability of the partnership? The astrology shows the government are now in a very tricky spot.
