Can you believe that Rihanna is just having her first Saturn return. It feels like she's been around forever and yet she's only 29 years of age. Actually I’ve met Rihanna. It was a long time ago now at London Heathrow airport, and she was seeing off her mum who was travelling back to Barbados, before flying herself to New York with her “crew” of musicians and tour manager. This was just before her worldwide smash “Umbrella” and I remember asking her tour manager if her new album was any good. He was very confident at the time that there were a “few” hit songs on it. My word he was right!! That meeting stuck in my mind for quite a while, and now of course Robyn Rihanna Fenty is one of the most recognisable pop stars on the planet. I am pleased I met her, before fame came knocking on her door. Now tragedy has hit the Caribbean Queen of pop, as her cousin was gunned down in Barbados. She was pictured with her cousin Tavon Kaiseen Alleyne on Christmas Day. One day later he was tragically killed, and this must have been devastating for her and her family.
Kevin Spacey has come into the news after a historical altercation with child actor Anthony Rapp (who was 14 years old at the time of the meeting) leading to an uncalled for sexual advance. Today he made a full and frank apology for his actions, and it also lead the former Oscar winner to admit that he was actually gay.
Hi everyone. I was very struck yesterday by the interview in the British newspaper "The Daily Telegraph" with Prince Harry. In it he expressed his inability to deal with the death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales over the last 20 years and his locking away of his emotions over that part of his life. Eventually Harry sought counselling and it has helped him overcome the hurt and the pain that he has suffered because of the loss and his inability to grieve.
We are approaching the 2nd connection in a series of three as Chiron in Pisces moves forward to form a square aspect with Saturn in Sagittarius, the planet of wounds and subsequent healing making a tension riddled and difficult square to Saturn, the planet of restriction, loss and hard lessons learned. Just from those two descriptions you can probably see the effects of this square coming into being. The next exact hit (the first one was over the Christmas holidays on 28th December) occurs on 30th April at 27.19 degrees Sagittarius/Pisces, although the effects of it will already be starting to make themselves evident, as this square is now just over 2 degrees from being exact and continuing day on day to close in. There is an extra complication in all this too, as Venus retrograde joins in the mix from mid April onwards.
Jane Fonda has opened to the press out about some very personal and hurtful memories today and kudos too her for doing so, it's such a brave thing to admit to, and she will probably feel better and more relieved for it.
Mars is starting to make an inconjunct aspect to Chiron in the skies above us and this aspect see the planet of force and action connecting with the planet of wounding and learning life lessons. This aspect may see quite spiteful actions taken that are intentionally intended to wound, but actually end up hurting yourself instead. In a way this is quite an accident prone and a more self-destructive aspect than some others that we encounter.
David Cameron the British PM is a perfect example of this. He has transiting Mars sitting bang on his Sun at this moment and he has had a terrible couple of days. He fought an aggressive but an ultimately losing battle over the appointment of Jean-Claude Juncker being appointed as EU president hurting his own reputation and that of Britain in the eyes of his European partners, and as you will know he also was criticised this week for commenting on the phone hacking trial outcome before it had formally ended. Not a good week for him.
Look out for important sports injuries that may come into the news and spiteful words and actions that hit the headlines. You may be just too hasty or clumsy, and then something unfortunate may happen? This is an aspect also of adapting your actions to suit the situation you find yourself in, to try to alleviate the hurt inside you for example. Chiron is a healing planet and a maverick influence too, thus you may act irrationally to shake things up or change your luck, or you may do something from the bottom of your heart to aid and help someone who is in great pain.
With Mars in Libra, I suspect much of what goes on may be connected to relationship issues and these may be strongly affected, so rifts between partners or those in love may be healed, or more negatively painful separations may occur...
Have you been through the mill in the past 4-6 weeks? Have the pressures of the cardinal cross and the eclipses weighed really heavily on you? We have a new Moon in Virgo forming on the 5th September 2013 and as always New Moon give us the opportunities and the chance to start some new energy into our life. Virgo is a sign of service, of tending to the details, of analysing and cleaning up anything mess or junk that is in our lives, Virgo can’t abide anything that is not in order. This new Moon lights up the Virgo Pisces axis of the sky above us and highlights the small but significant asteroid Chiron.
Venus is conjunct to Chiron today (5th March 2013) in Pisces, one of those wonderful aspects that come along every so often that makes one feel at one with the world. Venus is love, Chiron brings healing and Pisces opens the channels for literally anything to happen.
The power of water can be used now to wash away any hurt or bring a flood of wonderful opportunities to solve problems in our lives. Conflicts may be becalmed, money troubles could be relieved, worry can turn to optimism and fears can be overcome, all with the healing love that is offered to us. Maybe you will be the one providing the healing or maybe someone will offer you a chance so help solve a troubling issue that you have been fretting about.
Look to where Venus and Chiron are making the conjunction, look for the house that Pisces is controlling on your chart and then for 9 degrees. That spot is the sweet spot for this hit, although your Venus ruled houses (Taurus & Libra) will also feel the lovely effects of this conjunction too.
Use and feel the positivity and love in the air today, and you will feel much better for it come the end of the day...
This aspect is now well under way and will be in close aspect into February as Jupiter turns and moves direct. I rather think there is very much a synastry between Chiron and Jupiter, because Chiron in mythology was a Centaur and Jupiter's sign Sagittarius also represents a Centaur. Chiron was also a teacher and a knowledgeable one too and of course Jupiter rules knowledge and wisdom. Chiron in the old stories suffered a potentially fatal wound by being hit by an arrow from Hercules, but was granted immortality by the Gods, so in effect he became a healer who could not heal himself. Chiron rules wounding and healing, and some people think because of his erratic orbit around the Sun that Chiron is also a bit of a maverick influence.
Now interpreting Jupiter square Chiron is tricky, because of the myriad of possibilities we have here. Will Chiron cause a wound because of Jupiter need to explore and experience new things. Jupiter tends to take chances and here you open yourself out to harming yourself. Jupiter also encourages expansion, and maybe any wound will come because you are over extending yourself. On the other side of the coin, Chiron can heal you by curbing your excesses. Go on a diet for example or give up smoking or drinking too much. Maybe Chiron will force you in to healing your financial situation by encouraging you to cut your cloth accordingly? It all depends where in your chart this mutable square is activating.
As this is a mutable influence, this change will slightly easier to achieve than if it were a fixed square for example; fixed ones often need a really painful break in your behaviour before you learn to change your ways. In a mutable square you can change your direction by simply adjusting your manner of doing things, not to say this is still going to easy to achieve.
With both these bodies promoting wisdom and knowledge, this could be an excellent time to do some studying so that you might learn something very valuable for the future. Maybe someone of knowledge and experience will come along now, enter your life and give you a helping hand?
In this aspect, we still may have to face painful truths about ourselves and about where we are going wrong in out lives. This aspect does give us a chance to do something about them before it is too late. Especially as this square is still active after Jupiter turns direct on 31st January, you can use Jupiter's forward motion to start to open out and to learn some of the lessons from the past. It's time for some redemption in our lives, a chance to correct some of the mistakes we have made, and to become wiser and stronger in preparation for the next stage of our development...
