Climate Change and the Outer Planets

It is very noticeable that this summer, the world is already starting to suffer from considerable weather events that are causing death, destruction and severe pain and problems. From the horrendous floods in Central Europe to the extreme heat in Russia, Canada and the Northern US states as well as the accompanying wildfires, it's been a very difficult few weeks. Can Astrology shed any light on what's going on? Maybe it can...

These are events that affect us all on a collective level, and so it makes sense that you have to look towards those planets outside the orbit of Saturn to try and make sense of things in terms of climate. By that I mean the planets of Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Chiron. It so happens that three of those planets are definitely in the spotlight right now.

Firstly Chiron has just stationed retrograde on 15th July, on the back of Neptune doing the same at the end of June a couple of weeks ago. When planets slow down to a stop before turning direction, their influence over us all increases exponentially, and their effects become more extreme and powerful. Makes sense, doesn't it?

Now Chiron in Aries is wounding in a sharp shock way, events that suddenly hurt and cause pain, but in the same breath teach us lessons for the future too. Neptune in Pisces is still moving very slowly, and is linked to suffering and sacrifice. Just from those two examples, you can see the possibilities opening out.

Now Neptune is currently sitting on the fixed Star Markab, it's currently at 23.47 degrees Pisces, and this star in the constellation of Pegasus, the winged horse, is one of stability. The star is placed on the winged horse's back at the place where a saddle might be, and it's a point where one might feel secure if the horse was travelling at high speed. Now Neptune at this point will lessen the ability to remain stable, it brings chaos and makes us doubt that things are under control. In particular, Neptune more than any other planet in my view, affects the weather patterns, you see the awful floods in Germany and Belgium, and I have the sense of things getting out of balance as Neptune sits on this star, as we look on and remain helpless to understand why this is happening.

Uranus is now conjunct to the star Menkar. Menkar is the primary star in the constellation of Cetus the Whale. This is a generally malefic star linked to the collective consciousness of mankind. This star can affect mass hysteria or populations acting as one as we feel what is going on, and individuals who have connections to Menkar (currently at 14.37 degrees Taurus) often can tap into what the public want and need, almost without being told. This is a star nevertheless of total chaos, and when President Trump took office, this star was sitting on the Ascendant of his inauguration chart. You see how chaotic that term of Presidency was? I called it on the day that he assumed the Presidency, and I wasn't wrong either.

Uranus on this star points to disasters that affect wide populations that are almost impossible to control. Sudden matters that involve us all on a group, community or even a world level. The climate and the implications for our handling of the earth definitely falls into that category.
I will also bring in Pluto into the mix too, moving as it is in the sign of Capricorn. This long term transit highlights the transformations in the world that Governments and big business are having to make, due to underground and sometimes hidden factors. Pluto tears down structure and things we know, so that we can build a new reality. It's a fact that we are destroying our planet and using up it's hidden resources at an alarming rate, and at the same time destroying nature, and causing planetary problems because of our greed and lack of consideration. All this has a cost, and Pluto will make us change, or destroy us completely.

And as for what is going on at the moment? Let's quickly look at Germany and Belgium, and in both instances, stationary Chiron is playing a leading role, turning retrograde close to an angle. In Germany's case, it turned conjunct the Midheaven of the chart, with Belgium, directly on the IC, in both cases putting strains on home owners and governments alike. Charts are below...

You know we have to look after the planet otherwise these type of incidents will continue to get worse. We all have to play our small part as part of the whole - that's what the planets are telling us right now...

I'm available for online consultations via Skype - please get in touch if you are interested. Thanks...
