Simone Biles wthdraws from the Tokyo Olympics

There is no doubt that Simone Biles has over the past decade been the best female gymnast on the planet. Supreme at her sport and almost unbeatable, but even the great ones cannot stand in the way of the planets when they come knocking on the door. Today in a surprise move, she withdrew from the US Gymnastic team in the middle of the team competition, siting mental health issues as the cause.

Tom Brady – Born to be a quarterback

Tom Brady

If you could ever want to find an Astrological chart that screams quarterback, then Tom Brady has it all. Later today in Minnesota, Tom Brady goes to try and win an unprecedented 6th Superbowl ring. It will be his 8th appearance in the NFL's show piece game, four times before he has been the game's most valuable player. He is without doubt the best there has ever been, and who would bet against him winning another championship on Super Sunday? I wouldn't.

Sergio Garcia finally wins The Masters

Sergio trophy 2

Massive huge congratulations to Sergio Garcia, the Spanish golfer who until last night was forever the bridesmaid and never the bride. Seventy four major championships he had played and never once a winner until with a throat curdling scream of utter delight he won the one they all want to win, the Masters at Augusta.

Muhammad Ali – A look back at the horoscope of the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time.

MuhammadAli[3]

Last night the news came in that one of the most iconic sports personalities ever had passed away. Muhammad Ali had the most amazing life, from growing up from poor roots in Kentucky, to conquering the world in the boxing ring with skill and grace, in standing up for his chosen religion & dealing with a degenerative and incapacitating illness. Muhammad Ali remains one of the most awe inspiring people in sport and a name that will live on through the ages. Looking at his astrology chart, I want to try and dig a little deeper to try to explain why he was “simply the greatest”.

Tennis US Open Men's Final 2014 - Who is gonna win, Marin Cilic or Kei Nishikori?

Cilic 1

I has a look at Kei Nishikori yesterday and today I look at the potential fortunes of Marin Cilic, the conqueror or Roger Federer in the 2nd semi final. He is a Libran, born 28 Sept 1988 in Medjugorie, Bosnia (no birth time). Anyone born in that part of the world had a tough upbringing in the 90's with war raging all around in the 90's and his chart is quite a challenging one. Despite all this, he has the battled through to make it to the pinnacle of the Men’s tennis circuit, and for that he deserves great credit.

World Cup Final Astrology – Germany versus Argentina.

Fifa-World-Cup-Brazil

We have the most important football match in the past 4 years taking place today as the mighty Germans who thrashed Brazil the host country 7-1 takes on Brazil’s mortal enemies, Argentina. It’s a clash of Europe versus South America, of the team ethic of the Germans against the little genius that is Lionel Messi. It’s a mouth watering prospect and by the end of the match one of these countries will be picking up the most beautiful and stunning trophy in sport. Who is going to win? Lets have a look at the Astrology of the two competing nations.

World Cup Astrology - Algeria and Costa Rica doing well

Fifa-World-Cup-Brazil

Two of the lesser nations of world football have been doing really well at the World Cup in Brazil and there were parties and celebrations on the streets of Algiers as Algeria qualified for the last 16 for the first ever time. Costa Rica defeated both Italy and Uruguay and made it through a tough group undefeated.

Donald Sterling – Paying a heavy price for a misguided comment.

Donald-Sterling

If you are an NBA fan, you will have heard that millionaire Donald Sterling, the current owner of the LA Clippers is in very hot water. He apparently told his mistress to stop bringing black guests to the LA Clippers home games. These racist comments reported on 25th April have been widely condemned, and today he received a lifetime ban from basketball, a 2.5 million dollar fine and was also told to sell his team.

Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 – Threats a real and present danger

sochi 2

In a couple of weeks time the Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia get underway with the opening ceremony. If you look on a map, Sochi is not so far from the very unstable region of  Chechnya and I would imagine that the authorities in Russia are very aware of the potential problems that this could pose. This was brought into very sharp focus as the Slovenian Olympic Association were sent a terrorist threat just today. Now I took the liberty of having a look at the moment for the start of the Games (the official website has a countdown clock) and I would suggest that the Russian authorities stay very much on their mettle.

Floyd Mayweather Jnr – A man of grace and brutality.

Mayweather

In the world of boxing at this moment in time, the pound of pound best fighter on the planet just has to be Floyd Mayweather Jnr. He is unbeaten, and at 36 is still almost impossible to hit. This weekend in Las Vegas he stands to earn an incredible $41.5 million dollars for his fight against Saul Alvarez. If it goes the full 12 rounds he will still be earning more than $1 million a minute. Floyd is an incredible character with some incredible habits but he knows the bottom line is winning and so despite some strange and outlandish behaviour, come fight night, the ultimate professional will step into the ring.

Australian Drug Scandal - Drug taking widespread in competitive sport.

Assie Rules

In Australia, it has been reported that rampant drug use in sport is tainting their national reputation, and the government has vowed to stamp it out. For such a competitive country, this is a hard pill to swallow and there will be a lot of soul searching and anger about the situation that is unfolding. There was a news conference in Canberra today where the government there vowed to crack down on anyone found to be breaking the rules. As yet, no particular sport or perpetrators has been singled out, although it is thought it is connected to organised crime syndicates.

Hillsborough – Let the healing process begin…

Hillsborough

I didn’t look at the Hillsborough tragedy astrology chart until this morning as I was really busy yesterday with other things, but a combination of things prompted me to examine it and within I found a hornet’s nest. A initial little background. The tragedy occurred at a semi final match in the FA Cup between Nottingham Forest & Liverpool played in Sheffield on 15th Apr 1989. There was a crush at the Liverpool supporters end of the ground as too many people were herded by the police into one section of the stadium, the “Leppings Lane” end. Because of the barriers to stop people getting onto the pitch to safety, that crush became a fatal one with supporters unable to move or escape. In the melee, 96 innocent Liverpool football fans died that day, many from crush injuries and asphyxiation. It now appears that the police in the aftermath turned the blame onto the Liverpool supporters to cover up their own failings in handling the crowd, and it has taken 23 years for the truth to be revealed, in a devastatingly frank and open report.

Ellie Simmonds – The astrology of the golden girl of Paralympics London 2012

Ellie Simmonds

I don’t whether the same joie de vivre is being felt around the rest of the world in reaction to the Paralympic Games, but here in the UK, the feeling I get is just as exciting and maybe more so at the incredible athletic achievements which all these wonderful athletes attain. Talking in British terms, by far the most high profile of these competitors at the Games is the swimmer, Ellie Simmonds. Tonight she is going for a 3rd gold medal at these wonderful games, and when I looked at her amazing chart I just had to do a post on her.

Bradley Wiggins – An Englishman winning the admiration of the French public.

148772429

I love the Tour de France. Three weeks of hell on a bicycle as around 200 supreme athletes race up impossibly steep roads, bash their bodies over cobbles and complete a lung busting circle around France of around 3000 km. These guys are brave, risking their lives as they hurtle down mountains, and totally mad for putting themselves through the pain barrier, all to achieve eventual glory on the grand boulevards of Paris. At the moment, the leader of the race and likely winner is an Englishman, Bradley Wiggins. For a Frenchman, the idea of an “Anglais” in the yellow jersey and winning their race for the first time must be a galling experience (sorry for the pun), however Bradley has, after a lot of scepticism, started to win over the doubters.

Usain Bolt – Coming to London under a cloud of uncertainty.

Usain-Bolt

With the Olympic Games very much in our thoughts here in the UK, I thought it time to have a look at the biggest star due to fly to London to compete, the phenomenal sprinter and current 100m champion Usain Bolt. It is interesting that recently he has not been his normal unbeatable self, and lost to his compatriot Yohan Blake twice recently. Looking at his stars, one can see why he has not been on form and he arrives in London under a cloud of uncertainty.

Andy Murray – Could 2012 finally be his breakthrough year?

Andy Murray

This is a repost from an article I originally put up on 24th January 2012 during the Australian Open championships. With Nadal already beaten and dumped out of Wimbledon 2012 by Lukaš Rosol in the upset of the decade (the year will not get better for him now as we move into the 2nd half of the season), this clears the road for Murray as he will no longer face him in the semi finals. At last he seems to have finally received a bit of the luck that I predicted would come his way back in January. As a Brit, I hope that it continues…

Here in Great Britain we have been waiting and waiting for a grand slam tennis champion. Andy Murray from Scotland was born into a fiercely competitive era, possibly the best ever with compatriots Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic all standing in the talented Scot’s way. He is long overdue to produce on the undoubted ability that he has, and if he is ever going to fulfil his dream of winning a grand slam, then the stars say that in 2012, it is now or never.

Superbowl XLVI – Will the Giants or Patriots come out on top?

Patriots_Giants_Lines

They call it the greatest show on earth, the day America stops in it’s tracks. Superbowl 46 is here and this time it is being held in Indianapolis. Kelly Clarkson is scheduled to sing the American national anthem, Madonna provides the half-time entertainment and oh yeah, there’s a game of gridiron to be played with two superstar NFL quarterbacks, Tom Brady of the Patriots and Eli Manning of the Giants. In an astrological sense there are a couple of ways you can look at the game. Looking at the individual teams and focusing on the quarterbacks. I’m going to do both to try and pick a winner.
