Australia's child sexual abuse problem
In Australia, a 5 year probe into child sexual abuse has concluded that institutions in the country had failed to protect children. The abuse extended to the handling of kids in schools, churches and sports clubs over years. On the Australian natal chart, any Astrologer could have pointed this out years ago.

Australian bushfires continue to rage out of control in New South Wales.
In New South Wales up in the Blue mountains west of Sydney huge bushfires are sweeping through the countryside consuming and destroying all in their path, indeed these fires have been the considered the worst in 40 years to hit the Australian nation. Sydney has been blanketed in a smoky haze and as yet many of these fires are yet to be under any sort of control and there is a fear that if a few of these fires combine then suburbs in the city itself could be in peril.

Tony Abbott sweeps to victory in Australia
Tony Abbott is the new Prime Minister of Australia. In reports coming out of that country he seems to have won a large victory with his Liberal National coalition ousting the Labor party that had been in power under Juila Gillard and latterly Kevin Rudd in the past 6 years. I mentioned many months back that he might be the beneficiary of political infighting between Rudd and Gillard and that is exactly what happened. Is this a ringing endorsement of his own policies, or a backlash against the weakness and division in Labor. Let’s have a look at what the Astrology says.

Julia Gillard ousted as Australian Prime Minister as Kevin Rudd takes over.
In an amazing night of drama in the Australian capital city of Canberra, Julia Gillard the now former Prime Minister in an attempt to firm up her position before the upcoming General Election, held a snap leadership vote as one of her aids in the Labor party suddenly switched allegiances to her rival for power, Kevin Rudd. The vote held in the past couple of hours saw Mr Rudd win by 57 votes to 45 and now it is he who becomes Prime Minister and will lead his party into the upcoming election.

Australian Drug Scandal - Drug taking widespread in competitive sport.
In Australia, it has been reported that rampant drug use in sport is tainting their national reputation, and the government has vowed to stamp it out. For such a competitive country, this is a hard pill to swallow and there will be a lot of soul searching and anger about the situation that is unfolding. There was a news conference in Canberra today where the government there vowed to crack down on anyone found to be breaking the rules. As yet, no particular sport or perpetrators has been singled out, although it is thought it is connected to organised crime syndicates.

Julia Gillard & Kevin Rudd – Could political war seriously undermine both of them?
Australian politics is seeing an almighty punch up right now as Kevin Rudd, the Australian foreign minister resigned his position to openly challenge Prime Minister Julia Gillard. She in turn did not hang around and promptly called a leadership election of the Aussie Labor party with winner takes all as the prize. There is serious bad blood between the two, as Gillard staged a coup in 2010 to oust Rudd from the Prime Minister’s job. In a swipe at the former Foreign Secretary she said he was “running a dysfunctional and chaotic government when he was Prime Minister”. Sounds fun, doesn’t it?
