The planets above us now - Opportunity, idealism and danger

Hi everybody. We're in the middle a very interesting set of aspects at this moment in time. First up, Mercury as you'll probably realise is the fastest of all the the inner planets, and it whizzes through all the connections with the other planets at an incredible rate, sometimes these are very fleeting, lasting maybe one day or even less. That's certainly the case when Mercury is moving at full speed, however when the quicksilver planet slows down before a retrograde period, it is moving much slower, and so its influence on us is much greater.

Right now, Mercury is is very much slowing down before it's next retrograde in Scorpio beginning on the 14th of the month. This will occur at 11 degrees of the sign of the Scorpion, and in opposition to the planet Uranus. Now this is really pertinent, because Uranus and Mercury are linked. Mercury is the planet communication on a singular level, and Uranus performs the same role on a community level. It is very much thought that Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, and certainly when these two planets are aspecting each other, the communication channels will be wide open.

Now this opposition has been operating the last couple of days, and because Mercury stations retrograde on the 14th and then starts to move backwards slowly through Scorpio, then its effect, which would normally be over in a day or two, will be lasting fully two-and-a-half to 3 weeks long.

Mercury opposite to Uranus is electric. The need to communicate will be incredibly strong in all of us, even if you're the type of person who doesn't normally go out of their way to give an opinion. Ideas will flow, innovation is likely, and so this is a beautiful and amazing time to create something new, dynamic and fresh. All the better if what you were doing is a take on something that you've been thinking about for a while, or been trying to implement, but just haven't had the impetus to do so. This moment could be the spark to light the flame, to create the opportunity. That's the positive side of Mercury interacting with Uranus .

On the flip side, Uranus is a rebellious unpredictable and sometimes shocking inference on us all. What we are saying or suggesting may upset other people, and the potential to offend those who are rather stuck in their ways could cause you a great amount of trouble. Controversy will be in the air all around us, and especially around the 13th and 15th of October, anything said may be misconstrued or taken completely the wrong way. That turnaround time for Mercury going from direct to retrograde may precipitate transport accidents, technical problems and scientific breakdowns, maybe at a very deep level. Remember, Mercury is turning in the sign of Scorpio, the sign that works under the surface, and so I am feeling that something dredged up from the past may turn out to be very significant and very damaging, either in your life or in the world around us.

At the same time that Uranus and Mercury are opposing each other, there is another influence in the sky that may take all of this completely out of proportion, expanding it to a level that makes a mountain out of a molehill. The influence that I'm talking about is a sextile between Jupiter in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces. This sextile is partile at this moment; that is to say that both planets are sitting on the same degree (18 degrees) of each respective sign.

Again, Jupiter and Neptune are linked. Before Neptune was discovered, Jupiter used to rule the sign of Pisces, the one that Neptune now affects. Jupiter is a planet of beliefs and expansion, and Neptune represents wider spirituality and expands things just like Jupiter does, but to an extent that is is impossible to control. In the same way that Mercury is the lower octave of Uranus, Jupiter is the lower octave of Neptune. Now through the sextile, there is harmony here, and the expansive and idealistic nature of both of these planets is working at full throttle.

All this brings huge opportunities, but also huge danger too. Yes we can have brilliant ideas and amazing insights, and yes, this is a fantastic time to implement these, especially with Jupiter Saturn and Pluto all moving direct in Capricorn for the first time in months, however a word of caution. Don't get too big for your boots!! Right now it is all too easy to get your head in the clouds, to think that the perfect opportunity is here, to compromise your situation by being too big headed and too confident, and think that you are immune from failure. The one that Neptune sextile Jupiter does do is to delude us into believing our own hype or someone else's. It's very true that pride does come before a fall, and it will be very easy now to fall into that very obvious trap that is staring us straight in the face, so resist the temptation, stay modest and humble, and remain patient too.

The best thing you can do right now and in the next three weeks is to keep grounded, to have perspectives, and to take your time. Right throughout this pandemic and through the summer of retrogrades that we have been going through, the one lesson I have said constantly urged is to play the long game. So, keep to your principles and stick to the plan. If you are absolutely ready to go, then go, but be cautious with it. Then in mid-late November once Mercury, Mars and Neptune have all turned direct, you will be in the best position to take a foot forward, and really go for your dreams.
