Today has been a wonderful day for science and an affirmation of the amazing foresight of Professor Peter Higgs, the UK scientist whose tireless work lasting fully 45 years eventually lead to the search for the elusive Higgs Boson, the particle which explains why matter has “mass”. The final building block of the jigsaw puzzle to why the Universe evolved as it did, is now almost certainly in place. Here on Solaris Astrology, I have been following the progress of their work from an astrological perspective and the announcement today confirms everything that I have been looking at too. The clues that this quest was going to be successful were written in the stars.

Enrique Peña Nieto – A new fresh face for Mexico.
It looks like Mexico has a new President as Enrique Peña Nieto seems to have taken a big enough share of the vote (37% at the last count) in Mexico’s election take over from outgoing President Felipe Calderon. His victory brings the old Mexico party, the PRI, back into power the first time since the year 2000 after years in the wilderness following accusations of corruption and associations with drug lords and gangs. Mr Peña Nieto is a new breed from my generation of the mid to late 60’s, and with his wife Angelica will cut a suave and fashionable presence in the circle of world leaders.

Roger Federer – The “Fed Express” keeps on delivering.
Roger Federer this year is competing in his 14th Wimbledon championship and as I write has got through to the second week yet again despite a close call against Julien Benneteau who pushed him to 5 sets in his 3rd round match. Roger is bidding to win a 7th Wimbledon crown, a record that would probably remain unsurpassed for many a years to come. Maybe his best days are now behind him as younger players such as Novak Djokovic can outlast him in a fitness sense, however if there is probably still no-one out there who entertains and plays the game with such grace and panache.

Full Moon in Capricorn on 3rd July 12 – Intense and practical, emotional and unpredictable.
On the back of all the intense planetary activity that has been swirling around in the past fortnight, we have a really notable full Moon forming on 3rd July in Capricorn as she conjuncts with Pluto in opposing the Sun making a t-square with Uranus at the focus point (see below). On the same day Mars shifts from Virgo into Libra, the sign of relationships. How will all this pan out? I try to decipher it for once using my own personal experiences.
