Mercury Retrograde in Libra – How we relate to each other

Yesterday as we experienced a New Moon in Virgo, Mercury quietly entered the retrograde zone where it will be operating between now and 22nd November. Often we Astrologers get fixated on the actual degrees where Mercury stops and stations, and we forget the general theme that is going on. Especially in Virgo season, one might be prone to take our eyes off the wider picture, but we shouldn't.

This Mercury retrograde will occur between 10 and 25 degrees of Libra, and so Libran themes will be the ones that will be examined and adjusted in the next couple of months. So those of relationships and how we relate with others, fairness and balance, law and justice and also beauty and what we perceive beauty to be.

Remember, Mercury is the planet of how we think and perceive, and so it is our mental attitudes that will be required to reconsider how we react to such situations involving the themes I mentioned above. It stands to reason then that a lot of relationship issues are going to come under scrutiny as we progress from September through until November. You may already be starting to look at that area of life in particular, and I already have two friends who are very starting to focus on their relationships, and how their partner is letting them down in some way. You may ask yourself if your partner is treating you fairly or justly, are they giving you what you need or are you being taken advantage of. Also, you may ask yourself if you should make or create a new relationship with someone? In global terms, that question is being asked of all the national governments in regards to the new Taliban regime in Afghanistan. Do you normalise relations with them, and what will that mean fr the future if you do? Ostensibly, Mercury retrograde in Libra asks us to look at those across the table from us, and focus on their needs, or our needs in relation to them.

Fairness is will also be a big theme of Mercury retrograde this time, as to whether you are getting a good deal for the efforts you are putting in, and how you should react if you are not and are being exploited. Legal decisions may turn around in the coming weeks, and decisions made may be rescinded or reversed. For example, in the Britney Spears case, just as Mercury entered the retrograde zone yesterday, her father went public that he wishes to end the conservatorship that has been hanging over her for the last 13 years. Suddenly the tide is turning, just as I predicted a couple of months ago (on my old Astrology Facebook page). And he may still suffer legal consequences for the impositions he put on her in years past.

On a lighter note, you may now be considering how to beautify your surroundings, and to colour your life. Libra is a sign of making things pleasant and agreeable, not only for yourself but for others too, so there may be consideration now to change the look and feel of the places you live or reside, to give a room a new lick of paint or to change the furniture or the furnishings. You may be looking to get a new autumn wardrobe and to buy new clothes for the autumn and winter. It will be change around time in a perceived sense, to bring yourself more into line with others and to gain their favour.

Every Mercury Retrograde has its own themes and you should be aware of them in order to make the best of the coming months. So stop thinking about your own desires and wishes, and put yourself in the shoes of others and think how they see you and how you go about things. Then through this consideration for others, you will get to the late autumn and winter months in a better and more contented place than you are in now.

If you appreciate this article, please share it with others. I was hacked recently on my Facebook profile and I lost thousands of followers. I am trying to rebuild through my new Facebook Astrology page, and here on my blog, and I would appreciate it if you were able to share my work as widely as you can. Thank you...
