Sun in conjunction with Algol - A test of nerve and temperament

Algol

Hi everyone. If there is one lesson that you can take out of the Astrology in the next couple of days, it'll be stay strong, alert and don't lose your composure. Why is that I hear you ask? Well today and tomorrow the Sun is moving in conjunction with the demon star and allegedly the most evil in the heavens Algol, sitting currently at 26.24 degrees Taurus. Algol in the constellation of Perseus represents the head of the Medusa that he cut off in order to save Andromeda and his kingdom. As you will know, one direct look into the face of the Gorgon would turn any mortal to stone.

Algol is actually an eclipsing binary star and every 68 hours and 49 minutes Algol disappears from view for 8 hours as it is hidden by it's much dimmer sister star. Thus Algol is know as the blinking demon, and it does have an awful reputation as being linked to atrocities and acts of violence across the years. Back a few months, you will remember that Algol was rising directly with the Sun over Syria as the awful chemical weapons attack occurred. The North Node was on Algol at the time of the 1984 Bhopal gas disaster in India, on the Midheaven at the time of PanAm 103 explosion over Lockerbie, Scotland, and Algol was directly on the IC at the moment when the ship Titanic hit the iceberg in the North Atlantic in 1912. There are countless other examples I could write about.

Now the old star gazers said that this star was one of decapitation, and by that I take the view that its about losing your head or your composure when the pressure is on. When faced with a difficult situation, many of us will either act rashly or freeze not knowing what to do (literally turning to stone) and few of us really know how to stay cool and in the moment to be able to deal with the chaos going on around us. This I think is the lesson and test of Algol, and if you can handle this star then it brings out brilliant talents for the world to appreciate.

Now I wouldn't normally point out this connection, however it occurs roughly three months before the next Solar Eclipse, thus the Sun is now entering a square aspect to the Lunar Nodes. The next Solar Eclipse is at 28 degrees Leo and any events happening now or in the next couple of days may have a direct impact on what happens in mid to late August as the eclipse hits. In effect we are setting the scene for events to come. With Mars sitting on the star Rigel potentially promoting rash or stupid action and the Sun on Algol where one could lose all perspective when faced with a crisis, what happens in the world now could be very significant.

There is a dark, brooding and yet talented side to those who have Algol in their charts. Here are a few examples - Stephen King - horror writer (North Node), Al Gore - politician and environmentalist (Venus), Anthony Weiner - disgraced US politician (Jupiter), David Beckham - soccer star (Mercury), Benedict Cumberbatch - actor (Jupiter), Jay Leno - TV star and comedian (Mercury), John Lennon - musician (Uranus), Johnny Depp - actor (Venus), Megan Fox - actress (Sun), Kanye West - musician (Mercury), Prince William - royalty (Venus), Tom Cruise - actor (Mars), Uma Thurman - actress (Midheaven), Donald Trump - President (Midheaven - 1.03 degrees from exact - just out of range but potentially significant)
