Astrology of the Day – Moon in Virgo - Friday 2nd February 2018

swimmer
Moon opposite Neptune - Swimming against the tide

The Moon is in the modest and organised sign of Virgo during this Friday, and we will go about our duties with a minimum and fuss and bother. The lunar energy impels us to get things right, and if we can't carry out our tasks just as we want them, then we will continue to fuss over them until we finally get the exact results that we want. Everything has to be done with precision, efficiently and properly, by not cutting corners and not by taking chances. No, under the Moon in Virgo, that would never do.

The Moon begins the day by making a square to Mars now moving in Sagittarius. Our emotions will always be on edge with a square aspect between these two celestial bodies and here the reserved emotions of the Moon may totally frustrate the freewheeling adventurous Mars. Someone who is far more open and wiling to take a risk may intervene in our careful plans and upset them completely, or their open nature may cut right across the disciplined path that we are trying to tread.

After this upset, the Moon makes a much easier trine to Saturn in Capricorn, and we can get back on track after the initial upsets that we endured earlier on. These two planets in these signs are communicating well and have a similar down to earth attitude. Because of this we will be diligent, careful and we can make slow but steady progress to achieve our goals.

In the latter part of the day there is an opposition to Neptune from the Moon and also an inconjunct aspect to the Sun. We may feel more disorientated or bemused the longer this day goes on. Our emotions and feelings will be out of sync with what we want to achieve, and this may lead us to wonder what is actually going on, as if our best efforts are constantly being thwarted. You may feel as if you are treading water or swimming against the current of the river. The only way to get around this will be to go with the prevailing tide, and let the water carry you where you need to go. You might not end up at the right destination, but at least the frustration level within you will reduce, and once the waters subside you'll be able to concentrate more effectively tomorrow.

Astrology of the Day – Venus conjunct Sualocin - Thursday 1st February 2018

Dolphin
Dolphin - Venus conjunct Sualocin

The Moon is in the sign of Leo for majority of the day, and we will want to feel loved and approved of. The Moon in Leo is very enthusiastic and we will encourage others and be very giving towards them, however inside we will be wanting reciprocation, and if it isn't forthcoming then we are likely to get hurt, we may sulk and be emotionally affected by the lack of attention. This need within us is paramount while the Moon remains in this sign.

The Moon begins the day making an inconjunct to Pluto and soon after a square to Jupiter. Initially we may feel rather confident and unworried about what is going on, and we may make changes to things without really understanding the real ramifications of what we are doing. This “oh well, it'll be fine in the end” attitude could prove problematic to us as the morning progresses. The Moon later on forms a trine to Uranus and an inconjunct to Chiron, and we may feel a need to make progress and not to go back to old ways of doing things. There is a sense with Mercury newly in in Aquarius that we have to find new ideas and different attitudes now, and this connection only supports our motivations to move forward.

The Moon towards the end of the day enters the less outgoing sign of Virgo and we will experience a quieter period now. It soon forms an inconjunct to Mercury, and as a result circumstances may conspire to see us changing our minds over something, or realising that what we are doing is in error, and realising that we would be better to go in a different direction. There is also the chance of a rebuke from someone who is unhappy the way that we are treating them. This day may end on a little bit of a down note, after the upbeat nature that we started with.

Now there are two planet star connections today that will colour this day too. The first sees Mercury on the star Altair in the constellation of Aquila, the Eagle. This is a dynamic aspect for sure. Mercury flies high now and thinks just as fast. We can plan with expert precision, link logically and in a very disciplined manner. In the world around us there could be stories in the news connected to the airlines or the military services. The second aspect sees Venus connected to the star Sualocin, the jovial star in the constellation of Delphinus, the Dolphin. This is a fun and clever influence, and combined with the diplomatic charm of Venus we can seduce and bring people to our way thinking without much trouble. There could be a focus on the arts, dance, performance, celebrities and entertainers, or anything that amuses us or fills us with with happiness that catches our attention.

Astrology of the Day – Lunar Eclipse in Leo – Wednesday 31st January 2018

Eclipse of the Moon
Lunar Eclipse in Leo

The Moon in is the regal sign of Leo today and we will feel proud and full of ourselves. This is a day to be on show and to present yourself to the world, the Leo Moon wouldn't have it any other way. There is a warm-hearted side to us as well, and we may be generous to the hilt towards those we love and adore, so long as we receive the attention that we crave from them too.
Now this day starts off with the Moon making a difficult inconjunct aspect to Saturn, and this aspect may stop us in our tracks as we may be forced by circumstances or by someone who holds some sway over us to backtrack or adjust our attitudes. We may be slightly hurt by harsh words or a less than sympathetic attitude.

The Moon then sets off on its own until at 13.27 GMT it makes an opposition with the Sun, and because this opposition finds the Earth in the way of the solar light for a short while, the Moon will be plunged into darkness and a Lunar Eclipse will be formed. The eclipse will be fully seen in Central and Eastern Asia, most of Australia, Alaska and Western Canada. This eclipse across the Leo Aquarius axis will highlight our individual needs as against those of the groups we are members of, and you may find these themes coming out in your lives in some way. This eclipse I think will highlight the mother figure or senior lady in your family or in your life, and she will be an important factor in the months ahead.

After the eclipse starts to dissipate, Mercury moves into the air sign of Aquarius. This happening so soon after the eclipse gives us an indication of what is coming. It's time to network, get your message out as an individual to the group and the wider community. It's time to think differently and more radically to and to express those ideas that you have been harbouring for some time, and act on them. The Moon then moves on to make an inconjunct aspect to Neptune, an aspect of some emotional disappointment and some sacrifice too. Will you be let down now? Will your pride be hurt? You may not see the ramifications of what is going on as Neptune often veils the full effects of any actions taken, however something hidden or someone in the shadows may be working against you without you realising it. Stay calm and aware of all possibilities.

The final act of this day sees the Moon opposing Venus, and we may be challenged in a relationship, or not see eye to eye with a partner. This aspect also sets the scene I think in the days and months ahead for the relationships that you are in to be put to the test. I'm not saying straight up they relationships will be broken up. Of course that is an irresponsible thing to suggest, but this Full Moon eclipse may highlight deficiencies in how you relate to others and how you value things and people in your lives. It'll be time in the weeks and months ahead to examine your attitudes and to make improvements so that the relationships you are in can actually survive the tests and rigours of time...

Astrology of the Day – Moon into Leo - Tuesday 30th January 2018

more work to do
Moon in Cancer opposite Mercury in Capricorn - More paperwork to do...

The Moon is in Cancer for most of today, and we may feel just a bit moody because of this, at least until this evening. We also may feel rather sentimental too as the Moon and this sign is linked to our heritage, where we come from, and who we are related too. This is a time when we are more tied into our family and those who are close to us, and also we may be less inclined to go out and about if there is a chance of a day or evening in the comfort of our own homes.

The day starts off with an opposition to Pluto and we may have to deal with people with power over us, matters to do with big finance, taxes, investments or things that have been lent or loaned. There is a possibility that we may have to change our planned course of action because of pressure or manipulation being placed on us. This aspect is followed by an adventurous trine to Jupiter and a square to Uranus. There will be a feeling of relief and almost a weight off our shoulders and a sense of freedom with these aspects following the one from Pluto. There is a release for us now and a desire to break free and maybe do something more adventurous.

The Moon in the middle of the day forms a trine to Chiron and an opposition to Mercury. The Chiron aspect is quite adventurous too and it brings out our talents through our emotions, we will be most effective now when we feel what is right. That sense of know what is right for us and what isn't may be useful as the Moon then makes an opposition to Mercury. This opposition sees a rather stern Mercury in Capricorn questioning us and instead of giving the straight answers that Mercury wants, we may go round the houses and do everything we can to avoid the issues at hand. This could lead to confrontation, however we may just be able to hit the right emotional balance to keep disagreements to a minimum. Maybe our boss wants us to stay late at work, whereas we'd rather go home?

The Moon then moves into Leo and makes a fiery trine to Mars. There is a need for action now and maybe what we do now can make up for what we weren't able to say earlier on? There is more enthusiasm now and a need for us to to be appreciated and loved at the end of the day. The Moon is now on a collision course with the opposing Sun, a Lunar Eclipse awaits us soon, but more of that tomorrow...
