Jupiter conjunct Aldebaran - Honours are bestowed

olympic medals

This aspect is active from today until the 26th March 2013.

This is the third and final hit from Jupiter to the royal star Aldebaran, the star in the eye of the bull in Taurus. This star is the known as the "Watcher of the East" and confers honour and glory on anyone who has a planet or angle connected to it, so long as you keep your integrity and you are honest and true. This star is judgmental and if you fall from those high standards, then you will lose everything and more.

The first hit to Aldebaran occurred in mid summer of last year coinciding with the Olympic Games in London, and medals and glory were given to the athletes who competed the best. The second hit was in December when Jupiter was retrograde between the 6th and the 20th and this saw the darker side of Jupiter and this star as it coincided with the mass shooting at Sandy Hook in Connecticut. The astrologer Robson says that this star when connected to Jupiter it does favour high ecclesiastical honour, and so appropriately, this last hit will see the crowning of a new Pope.

Let's hope that whoever they choose, he has a clear conscience and no skeletons in the cupboard, as he will have this star conjunct to Jupiter when the new pontiff is announced. If any skeletons do exist, then this influence will seek them out and eventually destroy him.

Full Moon 27th March 2013 – A tremendous build up of energy is released.

los-angeles

I don’t often look ahead to the full Moon but the upcoming one on the 27th March in Libra does look rather significant and when you see the chart you will understand exactly why. New Moons are the completion of a cycle, it is when the point when the reflected light is at it’s absolute peak, the whole of the Moon is revealed and in the same manner we often get the culmination of a issue that has been building and building for some period of time. Think of the cycle this way, a seed is sown at the new Moon, this is a time when we begin new ideas and set things up for the future. The Full Moon sees that seed now grown and in full flower and our plans come to fruition, we see the fruits of all our labours. From than point, the flower or plant then begins to die as the energy runs out, the leaves fall and a new seed is formed for the next cycle to begin. In the same way what goes up must come down and as our project lessens in effectiveness, we have to adapt or change to begin a new cycle of growth.

Who will be chosen as the new Pope and as head of the Roman Catholic Church?

cardinals

With Pope Benedict now retired as Pope, the first to do so in 600 years since Gregory XII stepped down in the year 1415, the cardinals have now all convened  in Rome, the conclave has begun to select a successor, and a new Pope will emerge before the start of the Easter celebrations. This episode probably caused consternation in the Catholic Church and in the Vatican City, as it was an unprecedented set of circumstances and a decision that I guess no-one was expecting. Now the big questions is who will come out on top. Lets have a quick look at the Astrology to find out who may do so…

Mars conjunct Scheat - Being brave and using your intelligence

Pegasus

This connection is active from 10th until 12th March 2013

In the next couple of days, Mars makes contact with a dynamic star in the skies, Scheat. This star is one of the stars in the constellation of the winged horse, Pegasus and forms part of a great square in the sky. In days gone by, this huge square in the square which also includes the stars Markab and Alpheratz represented the use of the mind, of knowing as to unknowing. This star is intrinsically highlights the use of one's intellect, of free and uninhibited thought and the use of logic to uncover the truth in situations.

Mars here combines passion, action and force with the use of the mind. It is a powerful combination that encourages us to see the truth, you use our intelligence allied to our physical strength in a positive manner and to work out exactly what we need to do to see us through any situation. One thing however, we do have to be careful now. Robson allies Mars and this star with “many accidents”.

This is a time when anything connected to Mars will take a step forward. From formulating ideas and putting them together in starting up a new project (don't start until Mercury is direct), for seeing someone you are attracted to and making the first move, for having the confidence in doing something that you might not normally try or take on. It's time to take a step forward and to trust in your own abilities.

In the world around us, this brings confidence to nations who have military intentions, it may bring a positive attitude and clear thinking to the cardinals in Rome who will be attending the conclave to elect a new pope, however with 115 voters who will have their own views and with Mercury retrograde showing a propensity for reflective thought, I think it may be a little while until they come to a collective decision.
