Last night I was privileged to go to the London O2 Arena to see a man at the height of his powers. Andrea Bocelli has one of the most soothing and flawless voices in the world of music, and I would say that he is the foremost tenor on planet earth at this present time. His rendition of “Nessun Dorma” at the end of his set was one of those moments in my life that I will never forget. I remember watching Pavarotti sing this song on TV, but I reckon that Bocelli has more warmth to his voice. It was perfection, totally spellbinding stuff and it nearly brought me to tears. Yes, he was that good.

Mars moves into Capricorn – Forward, but one step at a time
Mars moves into Capricorn on Saturday 17th November and stays there until 26th December
From freewheeling, exuberant and yet knowledgeable Sagittarius, Mars the planet of action and force moves into the ambitious, earthy and cautious sign of Capricorn. Whereas Mars in Sagittarius would literally take that one step beyond without thinking of the consequences, now the energy of Mars will hold back at least until it is sure that it will be successful in it’s ventures. As I see it, Mars will hate to be shown up to be wrong, but still desperately wants to get to that final destination.
You may see an energy shift now to a slightly more reserved and careful progression. Step by careful step, Mars will now creep forward, gingerly, warily, until it knows that it is on the right path and on safe ground. Anyone out there with Mars in Capricorn will know what I am talking about; these people generally don’t rush in to make a decision, they will generally hold back until they are sure of their actions. This is true of all areas of life, be it in work, driving their car, in love too. Saying that, get a Capricorn eventually going and you don’t need to work out how the saying “as randy as a goat” came about :)
In the world, in business, in politics and in conflict zones, the pace may slow and become more laborious, a ground (Capricorn) war (Mars). In Israel’s case, as this country is firmly in the news now because of the rising tension, this could get messy and complicated. Let’s hope they can all come to their senses before they get to this scenario…
Some famous people with Mars in Capricorn include :-
Steven Spielberg, Woody Allen, Robert Pattinson, Prince Albert of Monaco, Brad Pitt, Drew Barrymore, Katy Holmes, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Lady Gaga, Megan Fox, Ozzy & Kelly Osbourne & Rafael Nadal…

Mars Conjunct Acumen – Be wary of a sudden strike.
This conjunction is valid from Wednesday 14th Nov and will be in action until Friday 16th Nov 2012
Mars now moves into contact with the second of the Nebulae in the sting of the tail in Scorpio, the fixed star Acumen. This is the nastier, darker and more destructive of the two stars (the other being Aculeus which I wrote about last week). Acumen in Latin means “sting” and in English retains the meaning of being sharp, thus it is not difficult to imagine what awaits us under this conjunction.
A strike from the stinger of a Scorpion can be very dangerous and can kill, so this connection as Mars hits Acumen is not to be taken lightly. There is a sense from this aspect that one also will fight back against injustice or hardship, so look for signs of people taking action to defend their lives and maybe their borders.
Acumen these days although part of the constellation of Scorpio can be found in Sagittarius the sign of faith and religion, and I have this nasty feeling that the existing tension could kick off in a military sense in the Middle East under this conjunction. The signs are there as Syria and Israel are already trading weapon fire across the Golan Heights. Nebulae are associated with blindness, and could it be that a deadly attack (like a strike from the Scorpion’s tail) could lead the leaders in this region to walk blindfold into a wider conflict?
There is a danger of attacks of all types now, personal and physical so check your own chart to make sure that Mars is not making a square or opposition or even a trine to your own Mars, Uranus or perhaps Pluto. If you are receiving such an aspect, please take great care and use restraint at all times if possible. If you are threatened in anyway, the overriding urge with Mars stationed here will be to defend yourself in whatever way you can. It’s time to keep your counsel, keep your temper under control and let Mars pass through this part of the sky so that cooler heads can rule again by the end of the week.
The Astrology of the BBC – Crisis time for Auntie Beeb.
Here in the UK, our main broadcaster and a respected name around the world is in meltdown. A sex scandal involving one of the BBC’s main stars Jimmy Savile who passed away last year broke in the past couple of months with claims that Savile molested girls on BBC property and even during the recording of programmes. It has since transpired that Savile may have been one of the UK’s most prolific sexual abusers. This scandal deepened as an investigative “Newsnight” programme into Savile just after his death was pulled off air at the end of last year in favour of a celebration of his life, and a second “Newsnight” edition in the past couple of weeks made completely unfounded child abuse claims against a former Conservative Member of Parliament, Lord McAlpine. This lead to the resignation of George Entwistle, the Director General of the Corporation. The BBC is now leaderless and it seems rudderless, being guided by an acting DG in Tim Davie who started work today. Much of this can be seen in the natal chart of the BBC which I investigate in this article.
