Barack Obama versus Mitt Romney – Who does astrology say will win the 2012 US Presidential Election?

Romney Obama

Ok, here we go!!! In the red corner we have the Pisces challenger, the former governor of Massachusetts, Mitt Romney representing the Republicans and in the blue corner stands the Leo born incumbent and representative of the Democratic party, Barack Obama. Now as promised, seeing as I am currently on a bit of a winning streak, I am going to get out my crystal ball (no, not really), gaze up to the heavens and give my two-penny worth of opinion of who I believe will prevail on 6th November 2012. I am going to look head to head, the astrology on the day as well as the visual astrology picture. I hope to provide the most comprehensive astrological guide on the web to the biggest and most significant political contest that will grip the globe in 2012.

BARACK OBAMA – NATAL CHART

Barack was born on 4th August 1961 at 19.24 in Honolulu, Hawaii. A proud Leo Sun sign, he has a media savvy Gemini Moon and a cool yet sociable Aquarius ascendant. A quick look at the pattern of the chart shows most of the planets in the Western hemisphere; this is a man who thinks of other people before he thinks of himself and with 5 planets in fixed signs he is determined but a little stuck in his ways.
BarackObama natal
The Sun and Mercury sit in wide conjunction in showbiz Leo. All Leos love to be the centre of attention ( I should know as I am a Leo too) and Barack is no exception. He will be proud, individual and he will want to be the best he can be. Being at the top is natural for most Leo’s it’s the place they naturally believe they should be. Mercury in Leo makes Barack have strong opinions which he will express with gusto, he is a strong confident orator who will like to put on a show. In the sixth house this combination adds a great attention to detail in his day to day work, getting to grips with the smallest problem, Barack is an organizer supreme and quite a perfectionist. He will also be very conscious of his health and will a great fan of keeping fit and healthy and his vision to overhaul the US health system shows this.

Opposite Mercury is Saturn and Jupiter. As well as the small details, Barack will also be able to express the bigger picture and his communication will have a serious, hard-nosed edge with Saturn exceptionally strong in Capricorn. Woe betide anyone who crosses Barack, as he is one tough cookie who will show little mercy. He will have a stern temper with Saturn trine Mars and he has a great store of energy and controlled ambition pushing him to the top. Jupiter is in socially aware Aquarius thus Barack’s big vision and belief is being fair to all, not just those at the top. This is backed up with socially orientated Libra on the cusp of the 8th house of change and taxation. Where Saturn and Jupiter gives someone a balanced outlook, it sometimes holds you back. I often find people with this aspect cannot make up their mind or will go for the more conservative option rather than taking a risk or two. Barack’s catchphrase in the 2008 election was “Yes we can!!”, not “Yes we will!!”. Very Saturn Jupiter in that regard, Barack will always find it rather easier to sit on the fence.

Saturn is retrograde as always this indicated that the love of the father was missing. As we know, his parents separated when he was just 3 years old. With a peregrine Uranus conjunct his North Node, his relationship with his mother was distant and cold. This Uranus will tend to dominate the chart and Obama’s demeanour is strangely similar, kind, sympathetic but with a cool edge. His path in life will be to be very socially aware, a humanitarian and setting a radical agenda.

Those cool emotions are also shown by the Moon in restless Gemini. He will be very aware of “the message”, always wanting to be informed and aware of the latest news. He will also want to control the message and it’s content with the Moon square Pluto in critical Virgo. His family and especially his children will be very dear to him and he will want to keep their upbringing very much in a secure and private environment, shown by the Moon sitting in the fourth house.

Next door in the fifth house we see Venus. This is a very romantic, gentle Venus being trine to Neptune. A lover of romance, he will appreciate the love of his wife Michelle, be a bit of a dreamer and may have artistic or creative flair. For sure Barack will be a big sports fan and appreciative of competition. Neptune in the ninth shows an appreciation of all type of faith, no matter how unusual. It also shows that his education was very confused and disrupted. Interestingly Neptune is square the Sun, here is a possibility for using drugs and or alcohol to escape from reality and the difficult aspects of his life.

Finally I look at the 7th house of partners and marriage. Here we find Pluto, Mars and that peregrine (not connected to any other planet by major aspect) Uranus. I wonder about this combination. Sure he will be attracted to strong feisty and controlling women with Mars and Pluto here, and Michelle is certainly that, but he will also be very irritable man to live with as he is such a perfectionist (Mars in Virgo). That stand alone Uranus here in the 7th tends to say to me that the relationship with his wife may be a bit cooler than we think. Pluto suggests that through marriage Barack’s life was transformed, however in the future, this same Pluto through a malefic transit could also herald a further change of perspective in the direction of his life. We shall see.

MITT ROMNEY – NATAL CHART

Mitt was born on 12th March 1947 in Detroit, Michigan at 09.51hrs. There is a second potential birth time which is known to Astrologers of 10.00am but the difference is negligible, for the moment at least. Like his main rival Rick Perry, Mitt is a Sun Pisces and he has a Scorpio Moon and a Gemini Ascendant. Before I delve into the planetary details, it is interesting to note that Mitt has no planets in Earth signs like Hilary Clinton. Those without any planets in earth often lack grounding (an obvious but true statement) and common sense. Starting things off and leading from the front is not really in the nature of the Governor of Massachusetts too, as he only has one planet in a Cardinal sign, and this is spiritual Neptune. With 5 planets in water, Mitt is someone who feels his way through life. He has tremendous determination and staying power with 5 fixed planets, and he is flexible and can shift his position to suit the situation with 4 in mutable signs.

MittRomney-natal_thumb2
Mitt’s Sun sits in the 11th house in wide conjunction to Mercury and we also find Mars here as well. His strength is in being a team player. He will work best when as part of a group, association or in cooperation with friends. As such, if he does achieve the nomination, his potential running mate I think will prove crucial to his chances, as Mitt is the polar opposite to Barack Obama who is very much his own man and somebody who prefers to run things by himself. With Mercury and Mars in conjunction, Mitt has a sharp mind, his arguments will be clear and convincing and will snap back with a quick response if challenged; this man is a good debater and has a clever turn of phrase in his armoury. Mitt’s Mars is in Pisces so at heart he is naturally non-aggressive and will hold back if challenged to fight. Mercury retrograde is quite reflective, introspective and deep thinking especially when it comes to personal subjects, or things of an emotional nature. Mitt certainly will have a poetic way of communicating, but I suspect he lacks the real passion of emotion in his speeches to inspire the masses, like a Kennedy, Reagan or Clinton for example. The Gemini Ascendant will make him question every action and concept put to him, make him strongly independent and often seem on edge, he may suffer with nervous tension and anxiety.

The Sun and Mercury square to Uranus in the first house. This man likes to be original, to be an individual standing out in the crowd. He will thrive in a fast paced environment, but his energies and thoughts may become scattered once under pressure. Uranus is in Gemini, he may attempt to sort out too many things at the same time, with the risk of nothing ever getting completed. This is also compounded by the lack of earth in the chart. A Taurean emphasis would be so handy here, a steadying hand on the tiller and this is why I believe that above anything else, Romney will need to choose very carefully a running mate who is going to compensate for his lack of earth signs. Mitt will have a penchant and an interest for science, development and the latest technology.

The Sun makes a trine to the Moon and Jupiter closely conjunct in the 6th house of health and everyday work. Here is an optimistic link, someone who believes that luck and fortune is on his side, and generally it is. He has big visions and and will work and work and work to achieve them. Here is no lack of effort. He will be drawn to help people in whatever way he can, to fix what has gone wrong. The 6th house suggests that health will be one area that he will especially be compelled to sort out. This is a tolerant man who will forgive mistakes in others, a worthy aim but one in a politician which can signal weakness. He is emotionally generous, but also very secretive and he will want to know what is going on all around him. Scorpio Moons need to know everything. Scorpio Moon can cause one to be very controlling and even cruel in situations. The iron fist of a tyrant lurks beneath the gentle watery Piscean air that Mitt will portray. This all leads me to think that this could be a very difficult man to work for, sometimes helpful but also capable of being very ruthless.

The last formation on the chart is an extended wedge formation encompassing the 4 planets I have yet to look at. We see a heavy Saturn/Pluto conjunction across the nadir of the chart opposite to Venus conjunct to the Midheaven with Neptune sitting at the point of the wedge. The Saturn Pluto conjunction is capable of huge success in one’s life, it concentrates power, determination and ambition however, as with all the planets the fall side of these planets can be quite devastating. I have nicknames this formation the crash and burn connection, because I have seen so many people with these two planets in a stressful aspect (conjunction, square or opposition) abuse the power and status that it brings, only to suffer the consequences, Rupert Murdoch just recently comes to mind – he has an opposition. Mitt’s conjunction lies opposite to his Midheaven, so it doesn’t take much genius to imagine that a square aspect or opposition from a malefic transiting planet could cause his lasting harmful damage to his reputation. Saturn in the 3rd house makes Mitt rather staid and serious in his communication, he will like to be strictly accurate and light hearted exchanges of views are not really his thing. Saturn is retrograde, so we know that the love of his father was never very forthcoming. Pluto sits in the 4th house, indicating that the relationship with him was very close and controlling. His father would have had a huge influence over his upbringing, someone Mitt hugely admired and yet feared at the same time.

Venus sits in the 10th house in Aquarius. Mitt is married to his work and commitments as much as he is to his wife. Venus in this sign suggests that Ann his wife is very much his friend and that they got married in unusual circumstances, they married immediately after he returned from travelling abroad as a Mormon missionary in France. The trine from Neptune to his Midheaven shows the spiritual link to his early work, and Capricorn on the cusp of the 9th house shows Mitt’s serious attitude to religion. He will want to be known for contributing something positive to the world. If he does become President, watch out for a huge encouragement to the arts, to entertainment and to American creativity in general. This is something that Mitt will want to be associated with. Neptune trine to Venus shows a dreamy expressive quality that is quite lovely. There is a soft heart to this man, someone who will love movies and music, art, theatre and fantasy. Neptune in Libra can be “influenced” by those stronger or more persuasive around them, there is the potential for gullibility or maybe deception in this position and connected to this powerful opposition in the natal chart, this just could be an achillies heel in his personality that could be exposed in the future.

HEAD TO HEAD ANALYSIS

ObamaRomney

I started this article in the style of the boxing announcer before a big brawl and with good reason. A picture often speaks for a thousand words and just looking at the amount of blue and purple on this head to head chart, the colours I use to indicate oppositions and squares (in short tension aspects), tells you all you need to know. These two will clash – big time. Let’s look at the Suns, we have a straight forward proud Leo in Obama against an evasive, elusive Pisces. In boxing terms, we have the big hitter who stands upright in the middle of the ring verses the boxer with more skill than strength who jinks in and out wary of the opponent’s sledgehammer left hook (Obama is left handed) and trying to wear out his opponent and land enough punches to take the title on points.

The Moons like the Suns are also in “inconjunct” signs Gemini (Obama) and Scorpio (Romney) so emotionally they work on different levels. We have the same awkward inconjunct combination with either Mercury, Obama in Leo and Romney in Pisces. Indeed in looking at the inner personal planets we do not have one tension free combination. Each other’s Mars are in opposite signs, so we are going to have some verbal clashes there, and Obama’s Mars opposes Romney’s Pluto and Obama’s Mars opposes Romney Sun. Just add in Romney’s Pluto conjunct Obamas’ Sun and Obama’s Pluto in a focused quindecile to Romney’s Sun (a draw in the intensity stakes here) and there are fireworks and huge battles for control just waiting to go off, combined with some dirty underground tactics thrown in just for good measure.

Romney’s Saturn sits conjunct to Obama’s Mercury and Romney’s Mercury is inconjunct Obama’s Sun. These two aspects alone should annoy the hell out of one another. In the TV debates terms, it all sounds rather good and we should get some decent argument if the TV networks allow it & some heavy blows being traded. The signature aspect here mind you between the two is undoubtedly Obama’s Aquarian Jupiter opposed by Romney’s Saturn in Leo. Expansion versus contraction, hope versus fear, liberal versus conservative. Their charts are at cross purposes, and so are their views and politics.

ELECTION DAY – MITT ROMNEY

MittRomney election

Above we have Mitt Romney’s natal chart against election day 6th Nov 2012 in Washington, DC. On the plus side, Mitt has the transiting North Node conjunct natal Jupiter and Moon which brings positive emotions and a fair amount of fortune. Transiting Saturn in the 6th house of everyday work will square Romney’s Midheaven and square his natal Saturn. A big question here. Is Saturn pushing him up a step on the ladder, or is Mitt’s progress being stopped in it’s tracks?

Let’s move back to natal Saturn on Mitt’s chart. There, his Saturn (the inner ring) is conjunct to Pluto and opposite to his Midheaven. You could say natally that his ultimate progress and ambitions in life (Saturn/Midheaven) are in effect blocked by Pluto, affected by a slower moving and thus more powerful planet. Is this a prediction for what happens on 6th November? It happened last time in the Republican nomination process when Romney got so far, before he was defeated by John McCain. He has done better in 2011/12, but will his ambitions be thwarted again this time by Obama?

Transiting Neptune will be square Mitt’s Ascendant and Jupiter/Moon conjunction from his 10th house of career, which is significant as Neptune is personal for Romney as he is a Pisces. These connections can be rather over idealistic, falsely confident and ultimately depressing in nature. Transiting Jupiter square Mercury his chart ruler is optimistic in nature and thinks big without having the substance to back one’s ideas and hopes up, and transiting Uranus which rules his Midheaven is trine to Saturn which shows a switch in ambition and work focus, but will this be as President or will he have to realign his priorities after a second unsuccessful attempt?

Looking to Romney’s progressed Moon, if he wins it will be moving into his 12th house of seclusion and sacrifice which is not ideal for a President as often life ideals and plans tend to break down during this progression. It does tend to signify Mitt moving out of the limelight to reassess his life and ambitions, coming back into the light of day in 2/3 years time in 2015 as it finally connects with his ascendant to start a new cycle in his life.

ELECTION DAY – BARACK OBAMA

BarackObama election

Right I move to Barack Obama. Ok firstly the initial thing I see is the Moon sitting in Leo conjunct Obama’s Sun. In mundane Astrology, the Moon suggests the people and this says the people’s mood is in accordance with the Leo nature of Obama’s Sun. This Moon is quindecile Obama’s Saturn bringing a focus onto his experience and authority. Transiting Saturn sits square to Obama’s Mercury and Jupiter and inconjunct to his Moon, so his mood may well be quite sombre and business-like on the day, not wanting to get over enthusiastic and optimistic. Obama’s natal chart is ruled by Uranus with Aquarius on the Ascendant and the transiting Nodal Axis is going to be square his natal Uranus/North Node conjunction which does seem to indicate a time of destiny for him, especially as the lucky North Node will still be in conjunction with his Midheaven giving him a career boost.

There are a couple more nice transits here with transiting Jupiter sextile to Obama’s Sun and transiting Pluto trine Obama’s Pluto. This shows a strengthening of power, especially if you look at his Midheaven and see that Pluto through Scorpio rules Obama’s Midheaven (public persona and career status). Transiting Neptune does sit close to Obama’s South Node which may cast a shadow over his whole campaign, however the conjunction has passed through and may not affect him now. Neptune passed Obama’s South Node at 27 Aquarius  in 2010/11 when he at the time was being seen as weak and ineffectual.

Obama’s progressed Moon will be midway through his 2nd house on election day making a pivotal virtual Yod, a turning point in his life with Pluto (ruling his Midheaven) and Neptune (ruling his 2nd house of self worth). The Moon here tends to see one setting down roots and spending money to enhance one’s surroundings. Doesn’t sound like the progressed Moon is describing him moving his residence anytime soon.

THE STARS & PLANETS OVER WASHINGTON on 6th NOV 2012

US election

This star map shows sunrise on election day and gives the biggest clue to who may win on the day. We have Venus as the “Morning Star” rising before Saturn (the King) representing the established leader (Obama) and the Sun, auspicious for the King (Obama) as Venus is conferring her blessings upon the holder of high office. Normally when Venus rises in the morning, it assists independent action and a chance for those in charge to take a few risks, thus a morning star Venus rising tends to favour established leaders rather than challengers who have to strike deals, make concessions and find the need to cooperate to get the chance to assume the top position. As Venus shines her light on Saturn (representing Obama), Jupiter normally seen in Visual Astrology as the prince in waiting or the challenger to the throne (representing Romney) is nowhere to be seen.

Assessing the fixed stars of the day of the election over Washington we have Uranus at the nadir of the chart as the star Betelgeuse in the constellation Orion is setting. Bernadette Brady says of this combination that the people tend to favour the establishment policies of the incumbent leader; another vote for Obama here. We also have Neptune sitting at 0:22 Pisces on the day directly opposite the star Regulus the heart of the lion in the constellation in Leo which is currently residing at 0:01 Virgo. Amazing coincidence this, as we have a Leo pitted against a Pisces (ruled by Neptune) for the crown of the Presidency reflected so clearly in the stars of the day. Brady says in her interpretation of this connection that “a leader fails, the king is dead”. Which leader fails, the leader of the Republicans or of the Democrats? Whichever one does fall, there are going to be some angry scenes and rather upset people afterwards as Saturn is in paran relationship with Hamal the main star in the constellation of Aries. Through this connection, I am certain that a section of the people are going to be rather angry and disillusioned, and there are going to be some harsh critics of how the population of the US has come to their decision.

Maybe the defeat of one of the candidates and the associated anger that the stars foretell will be down to over-confidence? Mercury on the day will be in paran relationship with the star Sadalmelek which is a star in the urn of the water bearer in Aquarius. Brady says of Sadalmelek/Mercury that “overconfidence will derail a plan considered to be invincible”. I tend to think that this refers to Romney. Not only does he have a Gemini ascendant ruled by Mercury, but also transiting Jupiter as I pointed earlier will be square his chart ruler, bringing him an air of invincibility and over-estimation of his strength and of his position.

MY PERSONAL VIEW

Having looked at the election from every conceivable angle, I can only see one outcome – a win for President Obama.

Romney’s natal chart does show a key to this which may have been sitting in his chart from birth – his Saturn and Midheaven is blocked by Pluto and Obama just happens to have a Pluto Midheaven himself. Obama’s (ambition) natal Saturn is conjunct natal Jupiter so with him there is no impediment to his rise in stature. If you were wondering why Romney lost in 2008 to John McCain, it’s very simple as McCain’s Saturn in Pisces was in direct conjunction with Romney’s Pisces Sun, holding authority and power over him.

The planets rising on election day also favour the President as do the planet’s relationships to the fixed stars and I think that barring some unforeseen events before election day, Barack Obama will be staying put in the White House for 4 more years.

Just as a final note – I am a British Astrologer based in the UK, so I have no preference or allegiance for either party or candidate.

  1. Very, very interesting. I have studied astrology for many and follow/learn from your insights. Thanks for the lessons you provide. I really study what you say and learning to see things I tend to miss...Thank you!!!

    1. Maybe you need to do a chart on how the country is doing on election day. Many have great charts for that day who are sitting on death row. astrology may have a very small part in showing ones personality etc. but not in elections my opinion only.

    2. Good suggestion, but I could only get some of the picture, simply because no astrologer I know of is sure of the actual formation time of the United States. There are several thoeries and I use the Sibly chart which gives a Sagittarian ascendant, but that could be wrong and the angles and position of the houses could be crucial to working out if a change of president was indeed coming.
I will have a look and report back as an addition to this post on if anything I can see is significant...

    3. I know little about astrology but do believe it is a signifigant piece of the pie. We are born with certain charistics,as well as strengths and weaknesses. Knowing these can help us understand ourselves. Of course we have to deal with our envornoment, raising, opportunities etc. I am a Pisces with moon in gemini and cancer rising. I have read the generic charts but I would like to have my chart done by a reliable astrologer. Do you do this?

  4. Leos are so proud of their sign.
    they endorse each other..!!
Obama is a big mouth and a show off
with no real substance, merely and actor
who will do and say anything to get where
he wants to be..Another negative trait of Leos !!
But by now people have seen through this and
his "change we can believe", in and are disenchanted.
in Oriental Astrology Obama is an Oxen and Mitt is a boar.
(Farm animals.lol).Hitler and Sadam Hussain were Oxen !!

    1. Excuse me anonymous... As the writer of this blog and a Leo myself I think that your first line was a little unfair. There a lot of straight honourable Leo's in the world, some maybe be pompous but a lot are quieter and less extrovert than the picture you paint.

On this blog, I use the stars and planets as my guide, and personal policical preferences as I mentioned at the end of the article and I try not to let this come into my thinking or analysis.

Obama however is a politician and in this sense I see little difference between him or Romney. Politicians will say what is needed to gain votes, that's the bottom line and unfortunately that's the world we live in.

    2. I disagree. Romney is doing his best to be civil. Hes a Pisces with a compassionate heart. I know how we are. Its that pesky Gemini moon that messes with me. LOL!!

    3. Obama is the classiest, most level headed president I have witnessed in the white house in my lifetime.
Having read his memoir I was astonished that we were so luck to have a man of such nuance and wisdom in that role after those dreadful Bush years. Years that brought our Democracy to its knees through a personal war that crippled our economy. Our infra structure shot, Obama has handled not only the national situation as gracefully as any leader could with a country that is now basically in the hands of Big Money. Obama has a deep commitment to the Constitution and understands that Capitalism run wild has nothing to do with Democracy and what our founding fathers intended. I find this comparison with Sabam
Hussain and Hitler so stupid and insulting to American intelligence that it is laughable. You are talking about a leader who finally as helped put in place a health care system that will allow you to be covered when you get cancer and without it would have to pay $9,000 for the drugs for just one chemotherapy session. And as you surely know Doctors predict that 45% of ALL AMERICANS will come down with cancer. He is looking out for the Citizens and you are one of them. Hitler and Sadam - tortured, murdered and destroyed his country men. They were both sadists and insane,

Take a look at Obama's elegant children and wife. The children are not brats like the previous resident of the white house who less you forget did not win the that election but it was handed to him by a political move on the part of the Supreme Court. No you are dead wrong about Obama. And I pray that this country will have the intelligence to see what they have in the white house. It is clear the rest of the world has figured that out.

    1. It is just that, a rumor, a lie, as it was back in 2008, started by republicans. And in this case, reality trumps what any republican wants to believe. You have to deal with the truth in Astrology, not what you want to believe to serve your political bias.

  7. I just don't see Obama winning this election. Mars is a co-ruler of his midheaven and there is a bigt-square between his progressed ascendant, his progressed Mars and his natal Saturn, I think this shows that his ability to win the election will be thwarted.

Next, Uranus rules his ascendant and his Natal Uranus will be squared by the transiting node. Not only that, but an eclipse within the week after election day will eclipse his natal uranus and his ascendant. Obama has an interesting natal aspect with his North Node conjunct the Royal star Regulus conjunct Uranus. This shows he will fall from a quick rise to the top. However, that aspect will sit there until a transit puts it in motion. Nov. 6th, election day, that aspect is set in motion when the transit node at 26 Scorpio squares his natal node. Mercury becomes retrograde election day and that could present a Bush/Gore scenario. Obama could appear to be winning until Mercury retrogrades right around the time the polls close. And with Mercury ruling the ascendant of Obama’s 2012 solar return, that puts him at a distinct disadvantage.

    1. I take your point of view and astrology is all about opinions. There are so many different variables to look at that I guess you could make a case out for either candidate winning. I absolutely agree with you that this is going to be a close one. A couple of extra points. Mercury retrograde does actually favour Obama as he has Mercury retro in his natal chart, and those with Mercury retro do seem to benefit from the reverse direction when it happens. The North Node conjunct Regulus/Uranus is a really interesting spot and you may not be wrong noticing this, however in my view it does not affect the election day and the result. Once it is known, events that occur after the election could I think determine this placement. I do not wish to expand on this point right now, although I have seen something very significant in the fixed star connections for the few weeks after the election date. I advise you to look at the fixed star connections for late November/early December if you are interested. I think the clincher is the Venus cycle that the American elections fall under. Since 1900, only twice has Venus failed to correctly name the winning party in the US election, in 1933 and in 1981. In 1933 when Coolidge triumphed, Venus was the morning star (favouring the incumbant party) but was radiating her light on the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter, and on that day Coolidge the challenger representing Jupiter prevailed. In 81 when Reagan became president, Venus was again the morning star but Venus was close to Jupiter (the challenger) and Reagan duly defeated Carter by a landslide.

You wrote: In 1933 when Coolidge triumphed, Venus was the morning star (favouring the incumbant party) but was radiating her light on the Moon, Saturn and Jupiter, and on that day Coolidge the challenger representing Jupiter prevailed. Are you saying that Roosevelt beat Hoover who was an extension of Coolidge. Please clarify. Otherwise, your analysis bears out thoughts i had viewing the charts. Very interesting. What affect does the Ryan as VP annoucement have. I think weve got another pit-bull basket type like biden and energize base. But the base is won. Independents will not go for Ryan.

    4. I see something different that I don't see anyone else mentioning. I think Barak Obama will win the popular vote, but Mitt Romney will win the electorial vote. He will be president, but not the real winner. I also think he will be a very poor president. The things no one is mentioning is the charts of the VP and Pres on the day of swearing in. Both Romney and his partner have much better charts that day. Romney's chart is really bad when compared to the US chart (Sibley) and I hope I am wrong because we are coming up on a very difficult period and Romney will make it worse.

    5. i personally believe that this election will turn out just like the election of 2000, we won't know who our president is until thanksgiving. i also know that strong correspondences between the us chart and a candidate's natal chart are indicative of who will become president, and as you pointed out, romney's chart doesn't make the cut

    6. I think that we will have a re-visit to what happened in the 2000 election. I looked at President Obama's current Lunar return, 10/31/12, and it looks very strong for re-election. I don't think it matters who wins because it will take several more years before our economy starts to make a recovery. So, whoever wins the 2016 election will benefit from Saturn entering Capricorn on 12/19/17. 8. I hadn't heard about the Venus cycle and will check it out. I read in one of the astrology magazines that Saturn in Scorpio favors the conservative party. I also just realized Saturn will be squaring Obama's Sun on inauguration day in Jan. 2013. He is also getting blasted with Uranus and Pluto contacts to his Sun/Moon midpoint which is almost 8 Cancer. His Venus/Mars midpooint will equal Saturn next year so all of this could pertain to his marriage too.

If the election isn't decided on election day then an election day reading is meaningless. You might find that both Romney and Obama have great days on Inauguration Day. There is no way Romney would feel good if he lost. On the otherhand Obama may be happy he is leaving DC and going to his residence in Illinois. Being out of office he will be making tons of money. Money means a lot to Obama being a Leo.

  12. I have dabbled in Astrology for many years, learning from the most capable and brillant. Unfortunately there is to much of a bias tone in the predictions of today's astrologers. Yes I believe it will be close and there could cause some issues. With that said I think it will be more obvious of the winner then one could believe. I am not sold that it will be Mr. O. On the bottom level there is a Saturn element going on with Romney but it is how I see it in his favor. A celestial (not just immediate planets) star map that looks like he has a good as a chance as Mr. O to land the deal. I am studying the chart of Romney and it looks like he will be a great Father, loved by the people in our nation, showing a leadership with a compassionate and caring heart. It will turn out quite differently then one could anticipate and by late 2014 there could be the turn for the absolute best for the nation if he is the leader..
Take a deep breath the ride has just begun. Count Down until November 6th 2012. Try not to get caught up in emotions that could sway your techniques. This is hard to remain un-bias but it is possible. There is another powerful celestial element going on that will come down.

    1. I know exactly what you are inferring Mr Lace. On the 23rd Jan 13 looking at both, Romney's aspects are lovely with his chart ruler Mercury conjunct his Midheaven and Jupiter sitting right on his North Node. Transiting Saturn is square Pluto which looks like a big weight on one's shoulders. By contrast Obama's chart is rather fraught with Saturn square to his Sun and the Nodal Axis square his natal Uranus, his chart ruler. It could be that Romney overturns the Venus cycle that has been pretty constant for the last 100 years or so. Saying that, with the American economy on such a precipice, is winning the Presidency such a good career choice right now anyway? I stand to be shot down if I am wrong and that's fine, it wouldn't be the last time

In 1980 when Reagan ran against Carter people wanted to know why anyone would run with the curse that every twenty years the election on a zero year the President would die in office. That cycle lasted 120 years. All Cycles come to an end. Obama's good luck cycle has run out. He is no longer looking like a Rockstar. He is viewed more like the poser he has always been.

I would be happy to see a Republican being blamed for an even worse economy- because that's what is headed our way. What you're forgetting is that the planets determine what will happen to our economy over the next 4 years. God himself could not have dug us out of the HUGE hole we're in which was left by the last administration. It took 8 years to screw it up, so how could someone fix it in 4 years? Let me correct myself- the planets will let us know what is coming- 'free will' will determine what happens. And those decisions are not made by 1 person- they need to be voted in by Government. Stop blaming our bad economy on 1 man.

I am no 'birther', and it is time that it be be pointed out that the original one was none other than Obama himself. It was Obama alone who allowed Jane Dystel, his literary agent (from 1991 - long before B.O. came to national prominence) to describe for over a decade in professional releases her client Obama as born Kenyan. That is not to say I believe he was born there. I believe he was born in Hawaii but I think he misrepresented himself and it is for that reason that I cannot accept the info on his birth cert ( PDF of, actually ) that was presented to the press via an openly partisan website (DailyKos). With Obama's chart the average practitioner is faced with the old problem of dirty data, plain and simple.

The "KING" IS JUPITER according to Ms Brady and the "Crown Prince" IS Saturn! You should really go back and study Visual astrology You should note that Now that Venus Is according to the Ancients....a "malignant star" Which rises It's Light shines (lumination) down upon the Crown Princes' entity.
Just investigate and have an open mind and switch Obama's birth place to Mombasa, Kenya- The Relocate him to Washington DC. If Obama is Really Born in Kenya at the same time as he is in Hawaii....then He would have a VOC Moon Pending just what happened when He was sworn in and also He had a Mercury Retrograde. Obama is a Saturn Person and Saturn Rules- The Democratic Party- How do I know this- Research my friend.
Just look at the News. I think that your timing is all wrong and astrology is all about "Timing" I can only point out what I believe is right since I have been studying all forms of astrology including Uranian Astrology. Have a Great Day!

    ReplyDelete
  28. I take issue with you on a few of your points and yes I have done plenty of research. I agree that Venus does have it's dark side however I tend to feel that comes out when she is in retrograde motion. Maybe I should adjust the language I use, calling Saturn the one who holds the power, and Jupiter the one who seeks it. Ancient astology seemed to have 2 or maybe 3 kings in the sky, including the position of the Sun as well. Nethertheless, back early in the year, I called the French election spot on the money, having seen that Jupiter was travelling with Venus direct in the sky, thus in my eyes gaining favour. The challenger on election day, Francois Hollande swept to victory over the incumbant Sarkozy. I agree Astrology is all about timing and that is why I combine traditional astrology with visual to try to put as comprehensive picture together as I can. About Obama and his Kenyan roots, I have looked at his 19.24 chart moved to Mombasa, including the associated time difference involved and there are 2 main differences - his Moon switches into Taurus which seems more appropriate as I have always been a little puzzled by the Gemini Moon which a 19.24 Honolulu birth time gives him. Watching him, he seem far more Taurus like in his emotional responses - nothing hurries him. Saturn shifts into the 11th, good for party politics but the rest of the chart remains pretty similar to the chart we have now. Until we have absolute definitive proof that Obama was not born in Honolulu, I will stick with what Astro Databank says on his birthtime. I hope you have a great day too...

I realize that some people will vote for Obama because they are receiving benefits that they were not receiving under the Republican party. I also think that some people will vote for him because of who he is. I just want to know why it was stated earlier that something in his chart is not quite right. Can that be clarified? What is not right about his chart if he really was born in Kenya. My question is why a person that was not born in the US was elected President and could be re-elected again? Why is this kept hidden? My point is that if you are not born in the US you cannot be President of the US. Otherwise, all of us who are naturalized citizens and could become prosperous should have the same opportunity to run and get elected to the Presidency?

  36. I read all the posts and comments and am only interested in the Astrology. I have been assessing the charts of the candidates, their wives and running mates. Of course we don't know how accurate any of these published birth charts are, but this election is an extremely important event, the outcome will impact the entire world so we all have a vested interest, in just who will be the US President for the next four years. Ann Romney has no published birth time so a review is limited, but having assessed all charts, transits, progressions and solar arcs, I did find something interesting. I found a common link in the relocated charts of the candidates for President and Joe Biden and in the natal chart of Paul Ryan. The same link is also found in the relocated chart for Michelle Obama, (based on the rectified 3.22am published chart used by many astrologers). All have Gemini/Sag, or Sag/Gemini in early degrees across the Asc/Dsc axis. The Mercury retrograde at 4 degrees Sag is very telling, so is the eclipse at the end of the month, just after Mercury stations direct at the end of the month. I find this commonality in the charts intriguing, particlularly as Pres. Obamas' chart only connects if his Hawaii birth chart is correct and does not, if he was born in Kenya. Paul Ryan has natal Neptune at 0 degrees Sag on the Asc of his published chart. Neptune, still retrograde squares his natal Neptune exact. I think the Presidents Gemini Moon at 3 degrees describes his communication ability well, particularly on the Asc in Washington DC chart. Neptune makes challenging aspects and so does Mercury, will anything be as it appears, I doubt anything will be clear cut. A comparison with the Mercury retrograde event chart is worth a look. Is it just coincidence, or is Astrology describing the synchronicity and a drama playing out between these people drawn to Washington by destiny.

There has been much media discussion about all the politicians lying and from the perspective of these charts, is it any wonder? I just hope there won't be any tricks on election day, nobody blocked from the polls, no hanging chads and no ballots disappearing, no mass disillusionment and disappointment, but perhaps I'm dreaming and the whole world is holding its breath!

    1. Thank you for a great contribution. That Mercury retro turning on election day square to Neptune I think will add to some type of confusion too. As you say, it turns close to Romney's descendant and Ryan's ascendant plus it turns 2 degree's from Romney's South Node too. Almost like you think you've got the deal in the bag and then something comes along to throw a spanner in the works. Remember too that Mercury rules Romney's chart with Gemini on the ascendant. One other point to consider, the last solar eclipse occurred at 0 Gemini conjunct his Ascendant & opposite Romney's Moon Jupiter conjunction. An interesting line from Celeste Teal about this hit. She says that an eclipsed Moon may show one's popularity soar and dive, and her judgement on the eclipsed Jupiter is also very telling. She writes that losses may occur after relying on a close associate. She says to be wary of relying on the judgement of another person. Romney had put all his eggs in the Paul Ryan budget plan - will this eclispe signature play out again??

  37. Hmm, this assessment is way too biased towards Obama. You even failed to point out that he has SUN/MERCURY/NEPTUNE SQUARE. When this aspect is used negatively, the person will distort the truth, and hide who he/she really is. What we see is an illusion....however, it's all how a person uses what he has, it's about FREE will. And since I believe niether candidate knows what is in their chart, they will choose to behave in a way that has to do with how they were raised and their believes that they stand by. I speak as a democrat with Saturn in Sag in 3h. And since I know this, I'm more comfortable with seeking the truth and not following the crowd.

    Replies
    1. Ok you want negatives on Obama's transit chart? The main ones are these. Saturn square to his Jupiter/Mercury opposition, which may make him more serious and limit any plans for the expansion of his life until Saturn moves out of the way. The transiting Nodes will be square his natal Uranus which may bring unexpected events into play that affect him deply as he has Aquarius rising, and transiting Neptune in his first house will be still square his Midheaven putting a cloud over his presidency, but that has been in place for a while now. Obama does have a very powerful Pluto trine natal Pluto which I see a reaffirmation of his powerbase. Thing is, I have to balance what is positive and negative on Romney's chart. Romney does have a few good points to work on namely North Node on Jupiter and transiting Jupiter approaching Uranus (both fortunate) but Saturn square to Saturn and the Midheaven & Neptune square his ascendant seem in my eyes to difficult negatives to get over. His Ascendant was also hit by a Southern Eclipse back in May, another negative for Romney, the position of Venus favours the Democrats on election day (plus for Obama), the Aries ingress chart over Washington favours the incumbant (plus for Obama). Saturn in Scorpio tends to favour the Republicans. As I see it it is ging to be very very close, of course Mercury turns retro on election day too, throwing a spanner in the works. My friend, put yourself in my position and you will see how difficult it is to pick a winner. By the way I am British, which you should know if you read the article fully, and I have no allegiances either way...

  41. Romney has Mercury retrograde in his birth chart; Obama does not. People with Mercury retrograde natally tend to fare well during times when it is retrograde -- am curious what this may mean since it goes retro late in the day on election day. Another factor is that Obama will be nominated Wed night, Sept 5, when the moon is void -- no presidential candidate since 1900 nominated on void moon has won the election, according to Debi Kempton Smith.

I would not surprise me. One other question about your last point. How many void Moon nominations have there been though? Not many I would suppose, so on this one I don't think it has much validity...

Here is Kempton Smith's comment; she is an excellent astrologer known for her great book, "Secrets from a Stargazer's Notebook":

"In every presidential election from 1900 through 1972 one of the two major party candidates was nominated with the Moon Void of Course. Every one of the candidates nominated with the Moon Void of Course lost. Jimmy Carter's 1980 nomination came in a Void of Course Moon. John Kerry's 2004 nomination and Al Gore's 2000 nomination came in a Void of Course Moon."

There is one online astrologer who predicted several months ago that romney would win and he has never changed, even when romney was way down in the polls. Why is that?

  44. I don't think many have seen my comment earlier. I think Obama will win the popular vote and Romney will win the electorial college vote. The reasons are the influence of Merc Ret. But also because of the confusion in everyone's chart election day. Romney's chart clears up about the time the official electorial college voting. Being British you may not be aware of that quirk in our election process. You will also notice that Romney, his VP and his families charts are better on the swearing in day.

No one has mentioned the comparison of Romney's chart to the Sibley chart. He has no understanding of the American people or a vestment financially in America. He is more tied to outside US interests. I also do not think I would like a President with absolutely not earth planets in his chart. I am a Pisces and think a Pisces with no earth would be a terrible President, but the comparison to the US chart verifies it. I am an independant and have voted more Republican than Democrat since voting for Goldwater. I will vote for Obama this time, though I don't think it will help.

  45. You know, an astrological chart is but one piece of the pie. There are many other pieces to consider. Many are born with a chart showing them to be a great, powerful person but the rest of the pie may not be so great. You don't place all your eggs in one basket. I certainly DO NOT see a great president in obama thats been proven.

  46. I am also a pisces with nothing in earth but am nothing like my chart. I also have a grand trine in air. I am a realist, do not change my opinion unless there is compelling evidence proving otherwise. I am a stickler for the facts and hate gossip. Am loyal to my family and friends. Nothing wishy washy here. I believe Romney would be a much better president than obama, almost anyone would.

  47. The democratic, or liberal convention was pathetic. It was sad as well as scarey to see so many obama zombies in one place. The speaches were nothing less than outrageous and the females who spoke were nothing but a pack of banchees screaming and wailing doomsday if Romney is elected was embarrasing to me as an 69 year old woman who fought for their rights. The republican party has a huge tent and they have always been advocates for women and minorities. :(

It's unfortunate that a relatively decent person I would have considered voting for in Mass. has turned into a male Jan Brewer.
I live in Texas, and am well aqauintted with the patron mentality that Romney is perpetuating.
      Astrology is about possibilities.
However, it is up to each person to work with those energies.
Astrology notwithstanding, Obama is being presidential; while Romney is caught in a "foot in mouth" syndrome that will defeat itself.

I am not 100% sure on Obama's horoscope (because of the controversy we all are aware of) so I am looking at other factors other than just a straight chart comparison for clues, and in those Obama has a distinct advantage. I do think the fact that even the Astrologers are split down the middle shows that it is going to be a close one this time, right down to the wire.

Think about it this way, Obama fix the 4 year mess that Bush did and needs another 4 year to fix from all the 8 years that Bush put us in and everyone want to play the complain on this Leo. I'm sure when Bill Clinton (Democrat) was in office we was in better shape till Bush came in and no wars, nothing. It was the Republicans that messed us up. Who wants to vote for these religious people that wants to take away human-rights like Romney. Romney should be more focus on the economy than focusing on taking peoples rights away, dont ya think? 51. No election prediction can be accurate if it does not consider both Kenya and Hawaii as the 0bama birth place - there is enough controversy to justify it. It is not simply a rumor as it is claimed by African officials, 0bama's relatives, and early reporting about Senator 0bama in the American press that he was born in Kenya.
Those who refuse to see this as essential to an accurate astrological prediction are simply more interested in politics than astrology.

  53. This is very interesting, I totally see the Aquarius in Obama, my dad is an Aquarius and has the calm and cool vibe thing going on which always pisses everyone in my household, which is filled with Virgos, Capricorns, and Scorpios--me being the Scorpio with Gemini rising. I think Romney could be a great president, his determination and personality and just his overall "no bullshit" behavior that just makes you want to nod your head and be like, "so true, we need this" is awesome and so refreshing. It's like you FEEL you're going to get to places with that attitude. BUT it's quite obvious that Obama is the better leader though. He comes from a background that is so mixed, complicated, and rich and educated that he just learned so much, has seen the world in different stages, and deeply knows what is best for the country to make it work on the long road. The problem is that America is filled with power hungry people, always has been and it's filled with assertive people who want that same assertive attitude in a president. Romney is this, Obama isn't, which agitates the public. Obama is more calm, chilled, and just IDK very prideful in a way that he knows that his way is understood by the intelligent people with common sense.

I think this country would really see the kind of change that America has never seen before, and people like the Hilary Clinton and Biden know this and are for it, and understand how it's what best to shape our future. We won't go nowhere if we have Romney, things will just be the same old fascist crap as before. It's 2012 people, we need a new game plan--Obama has that plan--trust him.

This is really interesting. I mean the "discussion". Back to astrology. I looked at Obama´s solar arc progressions. There are a couple of positive aspects there, the s.a. Sun in sextile to his Mercury, the s.a. Moon in sextile to his Mars in the 8th (I use the equal house system) and the s.a. Mercury is approaching it. Also the s.a. Pluto is in sextile aspect to his North node. Once I heard that in an election one should look at the transiting Saturn, that is, in whose chart it is higher. In Obama´s chart it is in the 9th, and in Romney´s chart in the 6th house.

  56. I've been watching your website recently. Very impressive. Self taught? A gift I suppose. Content is very important to me, and your site has some great insights. Re: Obama's win? Great analysis. My opinion is based more on intuition. I view the man as being highly evolved (Aquarius rising) and his actions are based on the world on a whole. I'm watching the Saturn in Scorp and Mars in Sag coming up. This Mars requires a man not trigger happy.

On a side note: Your website is really beautifully done. Leo, Venus in Cancer house 1, of course I would notice this. *smile* I will be back.

With all the various flip flops, what are the different stars that are making Mitt Romney say so, one day he is for it the next day he's against it! He speaks in public one way and behind closed doors the other way! What's the matter with Mitt! What stars make him behave like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide!

Hey Anonymous, You may be mad (mad = angry here in the US)) about me telling that 2016 and 2020 that ONLY DEMOCRATS Will Win; this is reality. Number One factor ‘demography of voter’ has changed. This demography is a culmination of the modern melting pot in the USA. GOP cannot in any way influence with their religious, completely conservative and ruthless right wing agenda. GOP will not compromise and this rising demography will move further and further away from the GOP ideologies.
Number Two factor is GOP has very deeply rooted itself to the 1950’s mindset (example Todd Adkins of GOP). USA is no more your age old mind set population, this is the new era generation and GOP will not and cannot understand and they will continue to stray away.
Summing up, GOPs very irrelevant far right agenda, age old (1950s) mindset up, angry, adamant, illogical rightwing wacko GOP radio-heads, GOPs ideologies against education, against women’s rights, against freedom of religion, against lifestyle, against color, against ethnicity …… and such arrogances, GOP will eventually die, if GOP continues this fashion. Wait, I don’t say this, check this out http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/20243574 QED. (quod erat demonstrandum)

    1. HI:

Check out President Obama's Solar Return chart for 2012-2103. He has Jupiter (Good Karma, Expansion, Higher Courts, Winning the Prize) conjunct the Midheaven (career matters/reputation). It was 'in the stars' for him to win big (Jupiter) but he had to reach the mass consciousness (Jupiter) through his communication gifts (Gemini moon) and will an electoral landslide (Jupiter). Transiting Saturn opposing Mitt Romney's Saturn and squaring Paul Ryan's Saturn was the GOP's un-doing and unraveling and will be for some time to come. To the contrary, President Obama, reads more than just a prepared speech on a teleprompter. Rather, he is great at preparing strategy to carry out his misson and directive. Also, I think the Fixed Stars analysis/trend is rather accurat and once again proves that the 'stars don't compel, they impel'. President Obama and the Democratic party still had to get out the Vote&reach the critical mass and its consciousnees in order to earn a hard fought victory both in the legal system through court hearings (some as high as the U.S. Supreme Court) and attempts by the GOP and its operatives to suppress the vote, which was curiously in Democratic strongholds in key swing vote states such as Florida and Ohio.
