We have just come through a New Moon in Cancer in the early hours this morning, so this is a lunation focused on emotion, caring, compassion and aimed at the circle of loved ones around us. I sense that it will foster a real sense of togetherness. This is also a New Moon where we will be looking to protect and secure what we have achieved not only in a personal sense but also on a wider more national level too. New Moons promote new starts and beginnings and if things have been a little rocky recently, then this new Moon will give a chance to start again, bring forward new initiatives and to make the sacrifices necessary to heal problems of the past.
The reason for this is that the New Moon in Cancer forms a sextile to Uranus and a wide trine to Neptune. There is a chance to see things in a different way and to offer an olive branch at the same time. There is a lot of caring and sympathy here and on the back of a tough couple of weeks when Mars battled with Uranus and Saturn, this easier energy may come as a welcome relief. Community and looking after everyone en-mass will be themes coming out of this New Moon for sure. A sense of togetherness, idealism and renewal will be strong, as everyone pulls for a common cause.
Now its not to say that the astrology around this New Moon is benign, it's far from that. We still have Saturn making its square to Uranus, and Venus, now closing in on a conjunction to Mars in Leo will still be in a dispersing opposition to that Saturn and a tense square to Uranus. The planet of love and values will still be under strain, and you may have had financial disappointments, relationships situations that let you down or stressed you out recently. Nervous tension will be in the air.
The Saturn opposition to Venus urges patience in love and monetary situation, even if Mars is urging you to act in a very vigorous or assertive manner. If you are being blocked in some way, try a new approach or be innovative to break the ice – that's what the Venus square Uranus is telling you to do. You may also find that friends or groups come to the rescue, just when you think all is lost. Chiron sextile to Saturn also suggests that where difficulties lie, we will be able to learn the lessons of what is going wrong, so that we can find a way around the problems we face. They say every cloud has a silver lining, and it seems to me that just at the last minute, we can turn things around, often with the help of others. There will still be a sense of uncertainty surrounding us with Mercury still in its last square to Neptune, this is the third of three hits between the planets, and you may not be sure of what to believe, and if everything happening now is true. In a way we will hope that things turn out all right, and this is indicated by Mercury also starting to move into a trine to Jupiter that is slowly building in the next few days.
So despite the problematic connections present at this full Moon today, everywhere I look I can see that there are chances to learn, change, adapt and fix things that have occurred in past and with the help of the ones we love, and the community around us we can find solutions and hope for the future. So I urge you to be with those you feel most comfortable with, support and assist them and use this energy to your best ability. Remember, trying to do things on your own can be incredibly tough and sometimes we have to admit that we do need support. Don't be afraid to ask if you need it, and you'll be amazed when others come up the help that you need.
I am currently accepting Astrology readings online via Skype for the next couple of weeks. Please email me for availability and details. Thanks... :)
