Back to the Astrology, I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas. I have been saying that the dangerous degrees on any chart at the moment are 10-12 degrees of most signs as they are in range of Pluto, Uranus and Mars which is starting to slow a little now and this leads me onto the country of South Sudan.
South Sudan is fascinating as it is the youngest country in the world, formed at midnight on 9th July 2011 in Juba. South Sudan's chart has Mars in Gemini at 12 degrees, Saturn at 11 Libra and Mercury at 10 Leo. As you may have been reading, there is still a huge amount of ethnic tension in this country and unfortunately the United Nations are reporting that tens of thousands of people may have been killed in ethnic tensions.
The transit chart is a mass of transits reflecting the confusion that is going on, but to pick a few out transiting Uranus opposes Saturn so the government (Saturn rules Midheaven) is under attack from rebel groups (Uranus). Transiting Saturn is inconjunct the Ascendant and that is causing hardship on the country. Pluto has moved around to form inconjunct aspects to Mars in the 2nd house and Mercury in the 4th house of the opposition forming as it does a yod. This brings division and arguments over matters of faith and beliefs as well as ethnic brutality, fighting and potential bloodshed. Mars rules the Ascendant which again indicates destructive transformation to the nation. Finally and this is just as important as the Uranus, Saturn and Pluto aspects, transiting Chiron is moving into a position at the point of another yod this time focusing on Mercury and Saturn. Chiron brings wounding and hurt and a lot of suffering, operating as is does out of the 12th house of hidden enemies.
Uranus and Pluto are not moving off 10-12 degrees for a while to come, so I feel this is a not going to be a quickly healed problem, probably not until these two planets move away from this degree zone in a year or two.
Just one last note as well. When I looked at the Solar Eclipse for 3rd November 2013 I mentioned that one of the hot spots in the world to look out for problems in the wake of the eclipse would be Sudan with Uranus on the Ascendant. Looks like I got that prediction spot on correct. If you want to reread what I said in that article follow this link...
