Aries Ingress chart 20th March 2014 for the United States

Following my look at Russia and the Crimea, I look now at the ingress of the Sun into Aries heralding the new Astrological year in the USA. Here is the Ingress Chart set for Washington DC that sets the scene for the next 3 months.

Will 2014 be the year that the financial bubble bursts in the United States?

I was asked by one of my followers on my Facebook page what Uranus turning direct would hold for the US. In answering this question posed to me I had a look back into history and found an astrological trend that is due to continue in the year 2014, one that the general public, politicians, financial officials and indeed those in the highest offices of power in the United States might not want to hear, but one that they should take heed of and prepare for.

Mars conjunct the fixed star Alkes helps Iran strike a deal with the US.

Iran today signed a deal in Geneva with the US to halt the enrichment of Uranium for 6 months in exchange for financial help against the sanctions that it has been under for quite a while. This deal coincided with a link up in the sky between Mars the planet of aggression and positive action and one of the more fortunate stars in the night’s sky, Alkes.

United States – Open for business again, but only delaying the pain.

Yesterday, the United States dodged a flying bullet as in congress they agreed to pass a new budget to allow the country to function again. In the past 3 weeks the United States had been in lockdown and as a result thousands of government workers were effectively prevented from going to work as national services, monuments and national parks were shut down. Nobody was getting paid and a yet bigger hurdle was looming as the debt ceiling would have been reached today 17th October. Had that deadline passed then effectively the US would have been unable to borrow money to pay it’s bills, however the US Administrators struck a late deal to raise the US debt ceiling once again. As I see it, this agreement is only delaying the moment when the United States will really have to face the truth about it’s financial position.

Gunmen on the loose at Washington DC navy yard.

News out of Washington DC is that there is a shooting incident going on at the US navy base there in the nation’s capital. There are reports of fatalities and a possibility of more than one gunman on the loose, quite possibly two. US defence spokespeople say that there have been several fatalities and people injured. This is an on-going incident and as I write one gunman is “contained” but has not yet been apprehended.

Russia steals a march on Washington over Syrian crisis.

In the diplomatic wrangling over what to do with Assad and Syria, Russia has seemingly taken the lead in the crisis by offering a diplomatic solution in getting Syria to give up all their chemical weapons, outflanking Barack Obama’s initial threat of military action. This has made Obama and America look weak and very ineffective as they backtracked from their stated position and handed the initiative to Russia and Vladimir Putin. In Moscow, they must be toasting the vodka in a diplomatic job well done, where as the recriminations in Washington and the blame games will start. Russia’s power and control of the situation can easily be seen if you have a look at transiting planets against their chart.

Obama facing a test of morals and ethics.

The chemical attack in Damascus, well I am assuming that there were chemical attacks and the evidence seems to be pretty conclusive has left the Western leaders with a big, big dilemma. We all know well that public opinion in the UK and the US has been quite anti-interventionist in regard to Syria, simply because of the long drawn out conflicts in Iraq and especially Afghanistan which dragged on for years costing thousands of military lives for little or no benefit or appreciable gain. The people just don’t want to see their brave boys and girls in the forces dragged into another Middle Eastern conflict with no exit strategy apparent if you get bogged down into it. Syria is a viper’s nest of one faction and tribe against another and within the country you have Kurds, Armenians, Assyrians, Turks, Christians, Druze, Alawitee Shias and Arab Sunnis all of who have their own personal agendas. You may please one side with any action you take but you may upset the others.

Cancer 2013 Ingress Chart for the United States – Will Obama be challenged by impeachment?

We are coming around to the next cardinal ingress point in just over a week’s time the the Sun reaches 0 degrees Cancer. For that point Astrologers can cast a chart for any point on earth and catch the general mood for the next three months and if that place is an administrative centre for a country, you can see what is in store for the nation involved. The Astrology of Edward Snowden and the CIA leak scandal.

Edward Snowden is a former CIA technical employee who is as you will probably now know is on the run in Hong Kong after leaking to the UK newspaper the Guardian that US agencies were secretly tapping billions of emails, mobile phone calls and internet histories. It appears that this has caused great embarrassment in the US, especially in making common knowledge the existence of the  secret scheme, codenamed “Prism”. Snowden has currently disappeared, and has become US enemy suspect number one as the US authorities scour Hong Kong for some semblance of his whereabouts.

Jodi Arias – Guilty but waiting to find out her fate.

Living here in the UK I have not heard anything of the Jody Arias trial but in the United States it seems that this story has been dominating the news for weeks. She has been convicted of 1st degree murder of her former boyfriend Travis Alexander back in 2008 and now in sentencing the jury at the case were split 8-4 to whether she should receive the death sentence. If she were to receive it in a retrial due to be held in July, then she would become one of only a few women on death row in the US. This case is notable for the graphic nature of the relationship of the two former lovers and the brutal manner in which Travis Alexander was killed. Looking into the Astrology between the two, a fascinating picture appears.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev – A look at the birth chart of the Boston Bomber

I have deliberately waited until Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was captured before doing this post as not to give him any publicity on my website. Being a site where I do like to look at the news and the characters making the headlines, this one was a difficult call to make and I thought with an on-going operation and with people’s lives at risk, I believed it insensitive to go into the character of this lad. Now that he will face the full face of justice I am happier to have a look at his horoscope.

Waco Fertiliser Plant explosion causes death and mass destruction.

Above is a picture of the utter destruction caused by a huge explosion at a fertiliser plant in West, Texas near the town of Waco. The blast happened just before 20:00 local time last night, indeed the police registered a call at 19:53 so perhaps we can say that 19:51 is an accurate time for the incident? It has destroyed many properties and the death toll is rising. This caps quite a week in the United States and it came as the Sun and Mars were making a fiery conjunction in the skies.

Boston Marathon rocked by explosions at finish line

Two explosions rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon today. The explosions happened around 14:45 hrs, around 3 hours after the winners crossed the finishing line. The explosion has hurt many people I understand including it seems several runners. The latest death toll as I write is 2 dead and 107 injured but this is likely to rise considerably.

United States – Aries Ingress Chart 2013

This is the second in a series looking at the ingress charts of a few of the most important nations on the earth and where their priorities may lie ahead. Tragic shooting in Connecticut claims the lives of 26, including 20 children.

This is the most shocking story I think I have ever blogged about. As Uranus goes direct I mentioned on my Facebook page (also called Solaris Astrology if you wish to find it) that it would bring down an almighty thunderbolt before a storm began. In astrological terms, it was an easy call to make and I worried about the consequences of what might occur. Now we all know. There has been another shooting in the US following the Oregon shopping mall incident just a few days ago, and this time it is as shocking as you could imagine. The death toll at the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut lies at 26, including 20 young children aged between 5 and 10 years of age who were tragically gunned down. Heart breaking doesn’t even get close to explaining how awful this incident is.

Obama Wins - Reflections on the day after the night before...

I feel quite satisfied and vindicated today as Barack Obama defeated Mitt Romney to secure himself a second term in the White House. I predicted this back in May, and since then I wondered and worried if I had missed something, if I had misjudged the strength of the aspects I had seen. I don’t know about how other astrologers feel and whether they trust their instincts, but I always seem to severely doubt my own ability to see things accurately. I think I should trust my instincts more, as so often, especially recently, I have been close or correct on much that I have written here on Solaris Astrology. Lucky or insightful? I let you my loyal readers be the judge of this...

Now of course the recriminations in the US will begin as a deeply divided nation wakes up to the path that it has chosen; there will be anger in the air now as this was a hugely divisive contest. I am going to point out a date to you not so far into the future and I want you to keep a keen eye on it, because it deeply affects the US natal chart and the newly elected President's one too.

The Fixed Star connections for the US Presidential Election.

We've got a few interesting connections happening now and in the next day or two which in my eyes are pointers to the prevailing mood especially in the US where the population are making their minds up for a new President. Now a majority will know which way they are going to vote, but what about the undecided ones. Which way will the stars push them and their mood? I look at the fixed star connection between today Sunday 4th and Tuesday 6th November, the time when those undecided people will have to make up their minds.

Hurricane Sandy – What the Astrology says…

Hurricane Sandy is closing in on the US East coast for late Monday and into Tuesday, so I decided to have a quick look at the stars to see what they say for the New Jersey area, the part of the coast that is likely to see the Hurricane make landfall. This is a big, big storm with the top speed of the winds now predicted to hit 85-90 miles per hour, and the worst effects could be the storm surge, a wall of water concentrated on the North East of the storm because of the anti-clockwise rotation, predicted to hit Northern New Jersey into New York and New England.

Hurricane Isaac increasing in strength and heading for New Orleans?

I am keeping a very close eye on soon to be Hurricane Isaac as it heads from the Florida Keys into the Gulf of Mexico on a potential collision course with New Orleans. If it hits Louisiana on Wed 29th Aug it will be 7 years to the day since Hurricane Katrina caused huge damage there. Mars which is in intense Scorpio and Neptune will still be just one and a half degrees from an exact trine though this is luckily dissipating. Neptune of course rules water, the sea, rain & wind so Mars will be whipping the storm as it heads north. Seven years ago Hurricane Katrina featured a square aspect between the same two planets, Mars and Neptune!!! This one looks a little less destructive as Katrina had a nasty t-square and a Jupiter Venus conjunction in the mix making the whole storm huge in size, mind you we still have a Uranus Pluto square to deal with as Isaac approaches landfall, and if Pluto or Uranus are on the Midheaven as it hits the coast, there could be widespread destruction and potential flooding…

Neptune will be setting when Alphard (Hydra) is rising bringing the possibility of "a sad, but natural disaster"
Neptune will culminate when Aculeus (Scorpio) is setting showing " A potential failed attack or weakened defences"
Neptune will be culminating when El Nath (Taurus) is rising bringing "Hopelessness and no control over unfolding circumstances; acts of nature could occur"
